Meet 12 year old Hussna from Watkay, Mingora, Pakistan who lost both her sisters and her limb due to an air missile. HHRD provided her with a prosthetic leg and she is now back in school alongside her classmates.

Children with Disabilities Program

Meet 13 year old Mussadique from Bhoui Abbottabad, Pakistan who lost his right limb in a train accident. Within 3 months following the accident he received a prosthetic cast from HHRD and a month later he was able to walk and play cricket with his friends.

OUR FOCUS:

1. Bring Children with Disabilities into mainstream society through inclusive education and social participation.

2. Offer training and orientation for parents and guardians of Children with Disabilities.

3. Provide various services including: Health/Medical Treatment/Assistive Aids Education/Special/Inclusive Education Skill Development/Financial/Food support Transportation to educational institutions Rehabilitation/Counseling/Guidance to the children and parents 4. Mobilize the line departments Social Welfare and Health Special/General Education Labor and Manpower Bait-ul-Maal, Zakat and Ushr Press Information 5. Advocating and upholding the rights of Children With Disabilities in accordance with the spirit of Islamic teachings, the National Policy for Persons with Disabilities, and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

HHRD’s Children With Disabilities Program (CWDP) aims to highlight the plight of children with special needs, and bring them to the forefront through inclusive education and social participation. We strive to make these children self reliant, and contributing members of society, by utilizing holistic and comprehensive approaches.
