Another year has passed and we would like to welcome you to our annual Cream of the Crop Female Production Sale. It has been an interesting year as Mother Nature has shown us that a division of Remington Management Inc. while we may be able to control some things, we cannot control her! Spring was long, cold and wet; summer was wetter; and fall was just plain long. On a positive note, there is more feed and grass in the prairie provinces than we have seen in years, cattle prices are back to where they were before BSE, and grain prices are on the rise. All in all, agriculture looks as promising as it has in years.

This year we have brought you a set of cattle right from the top of our program.We dipped into the donor pen, the herd bull pen, and the top of the yearling pen. The herd bulls are unique in their own right - Zorzal is an outcross pedigree from Argentina and Singletary is one of the top bulls in the breed for calving ease and carcass. The Old Post bred heifers are the first of their kind to sell, and they are the outcross that everybody has been looking for. There is a select set of Straight Canadian bred heifers that will showcase our program, one that is prepared to offer you the place to get all of your outcross genetics. The Simmental program was also selected from the very best. We are selling a pick of one of the foundation donor cows in our program - one is Lock N Load’s mother and the other is his full sister. The bred heifers are the best set we have raised to date, and with most of their mothers being Red Label daughters, the quality is self-explanatory. The Yieldmasters are some of the stoutest made, most functional heifers that anyone could add to their program, commercial or purebred. We are trying something different this year with our Angus cows; half of the offering are bred Angus and the other half are bred Simmental. We have the whole cattle industry in mind, and we would like to invite everyone to come to the sale for some of the best cattle and best hospitality in the country.

Terms & Condit ions

TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made prior to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Sale Management reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should the purchaser fail to settle for his purchase, Sale Management reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage, either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. The owners, Sale Management and sale staff have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment and/ or who has not made prior credit arrangements prior to the sale with the owners and/or Sale Management.

BID - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.

DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.

PURCHASER’S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

ANNOUNCEMENTS from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue.

Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - The proper Registration or Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement has been made.

SHIPPING - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale, but Sale Management or Seller assumes no risk. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.

GUARANTEE - All animals will carry standard breeding guarantee as specified by the applicable Canadian breed Association. At no time shall the seller’s liability exceed the purchased price of the animal.

EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. In the cases of bulls, they are guaranteed to breed naturally according to applicable Canadian breed Association guarantee, but no guarantee is given that semen from any bull will freeze.

HEALTH - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Sale Management assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.

ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sale Management, auctioneer, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and the terms and conditions of this sale do not cover obligations of the two parties connected thereto. Sale Management - It is clearly understood that Sale Management acts only as agent between buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any failure by either party to live up to his or her obligations. Sale Management does not assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of moneys by either parties, and in exceptional case, any legal action will be between buyer and seller. Sale Management has no ownership of the facility and assumes no responsibility for the operation of said facility.

WAF Zorzal 321U was bred in Horacio Francisco Gutierrez’s Tres Marias herd in Uruguay. Zorzal was picked by many as the top bull in the World Angus Forum Embryo Display presented by Remington Land and Cattle. A semen interest was soon sold to Mexico and Roy & Cindy Bjorklund, Lookout Angus leased him for the 2010 breeding season. Zorzal has all of the tools to become a big time herd sire as he is as complete made as they come. Outcross genetics from the southern hemisphere are represented in this stout made, good haired, sound breeding unit.

Selling ½ Semen Interest and ½ Possession. Possession is negotiable between new buyer and Remington. Mexican semen rights are between LAF Alejandro Alvarez Glez of Ovigenetics, Renato Gutierrez and Remington.
