The 32nd Annual Great Lakes Beach Sweep was held on Saturday, September 16th and almost 700 volunteer from Fredonia to Woodlawn Beach helped pick up and log thousands of pounds of marine debris that either washed ashore or was left as litter. Over 50 different groups including local school and service groups helped out. Th International Event is part of the Ocean Conservancy International Coastal cleanup and includes 92 different countries in the two hour scientific study. The Lake Erie Coordinator is Sharen Trembath of Evans, New York.
