Opportunity Brought to Evans Senior Center

Opportunity brought to Evans Senior Center by Director arranging 1st ever Health Resource Fair. This event brought over # 15 Health Care agencies under one roof and provided one on one live interaction with a representative. Not only were their Health Insurance representatives but, several other agencies related to Health Care Resources. Veronica Sullivan the Director mentioned each year she will host and arrange to have this event for the community and will continue to invite more Health Resource agencies to be part of this event in the upcoming years. Lake Shore Students Raised Money to Donate Llamas to Needy Families in Peru

Students, teachers, and staff of Lake Shore Senior High School once again made a very special gift this Christmas season. They bought llamas! Through the charity group, Heifer International, students raised enough money to purchase four llamas for needy families in Peru. Llamas provide wool for clothing, milk, and transportation in the rugged terrain of the Andes Mountains.

By donating llamas, students helped feed families and allowed the recipients to become more self-reliant. This “Llama Day” fundraiser was sponsored by the Flying Eagles Club during Lake Shore’s “Twelve Days of Christmas”. The goal was not only to help families in need, but to increase our students’ global awareness, become world citizens, and to inspire the spirit of giving.
