Pyromancy performs at Brant Summer Festival

On June 17th at this year’s Brant Summer Festival, PYROMANCY Fire Troup out of Buffalo NY, gave a show that people are still raving about! This group consists of professional fire dancing performers, fire eaters and circus type acts. Each of the Pyromancy performers certainly WOWed a full house on Friday night – all those in attendance were captivated by the group’s strength, endurance and skills! The hula hoops, batons, and other items, WHILE ON FIRE, (literally) were calmly and expertly carried, thrown high up into the air, caught and twirled around by each of these talented individuals during each of their incredible routines. Brant and Farnham Baseball- Past and Present

The Brant Farnham Historical Society provided their 13th Annual Historical Display for the Brant Summer Festival over the Father’s Day weekend. Well over 200 people attended the display area. As a tribute to the dedication of the Brant Park Ball field as “Flossie Field”, one of the main historical displays this year focused on Brant and Farnham Baseball. Farnham resident Joyce Cureo loaned us her amazing Brant-Farnham baseball scrapbooks from 1954 and 1955. In our archives we found information regarding Joyce’s father, Red Cureo, who was one of our hometown favorite ball players, as documented in many historical articles written by our town’s people. Many of the scrapbook photos were used in the display, and are now part of our historical archives. Sandy and Vince Fininzio Sr. loaned us some “recent” baseball photos (1968-1980’s) for our scanned archives and BrantFest display. Vince Fininzio Sr. is shown in the one photo, happily finding himself in the 1968-71 team photo of the “Brant Bombers”, a Buffalo Evening News sponsored baseball team. The historical display also included a photo of Brant/Farnham’s “next generation” baseball players, depicting our 2016 Town Baseball players who play on many different teams throughout the surrounding area. The display on baseball was a definite “HIT” with all those who came to visit!
