America’s Grape Country Wine Festival was first established in 2008 by William Merritt, owner of Merritt Estate Winery. The festival was started to increase the public’s knowledge about the grape wine industry of Lake Erie. This area is the largest grape growing region East of the Rockies. Grape growers in Chautauqua County produce approximately 65% of New York State’s total annual grape harvest.
This two-and-a-half-day festival showcases the best N.Y. & P.A. wines, agricultural producers and distilleries from across the state including specialty food vendors and local artisans. They all have come together to celebrate the region’s specialty in grape products and services.

If you plan on buying wine or other beverages (and we hope you do!), you won’t have to carry your bottles around with you. Each booth is supplied with Claim Checks. Simply fill them out and retur n them to the seller. Please make sure that you fill out the claim check completely We are not responsible for lost items.
Your purchases will be picked up by a member of the Festival Staff and brought to the Wine Pickup area next to the Front Entrance of the Festival. Due to processing time, wine claim checks cannot be used after 4:00 p.m. on the show days
Claim checks can only be used for wine and beverages. Food items or decor cannot be claim checked.

BLACK BUTTON DISTILLING
Founded by owner and head distiller Jason Barrett in June 2012 at only 24 years old, Black Button Distilling tasting room and retail store opened to the public in January 2014, offering spirits tastings, distillery tours, craft cocktails and a unique venue to host public and private events. Every batch of world-class spirits is distilled from local NY grains, bottled, labeled, hand numbered and aged in Rochester. 2016 marked the 40th Anniversary of Merritt Estate Winery in Forestville, NY! The Chautauqua County winery produces 26 vintages from dry to sweet and is best known for its trademark “Bella Rosa”. Merritt Estate Winery was one of the frst far m wineries organized in Chautauqua County under regulations established by Gover nor Carey in 1976; but the history of the Merritt Estate Winery dates all the way back to the late 1800’s. William T Merritt tur ned the estate into a fullfunctioning winery in 1976. Since then, his son Jason C. Merritt joined the family operation which continues to thrive each year. The father and sin duo dedicate themselves to their small winery , devoting their time and energy into producing some of the area’s fnest wines and look forward to celebrating their 41st year of wine making excellence this September

Thousand Islands Winery® is the largest farm winery in Northern New York State and is located along the majestic St. Lawrence River on a historic forty-acre farmstead established in 1836. The Winery began its operations in 2002 with the purchase of the farm by Steve Conaway and his wife Erika. The primary grape varieties being planted in the Thousand Islands Region include Frontenac, Frontenac Gris, Marquette, and La Crescent, which were developed by the University of Minnesota. The Chautauqua County winery produces 26 vintages from dry to sweet.
