Project: Keep Evans Warm & Fed
The cold air is returning and the holidays are fast approaching. In an effort to assist and support those in need and residing in the Town of Evans, Most Precious Blood Church and Operation Good Neighbor (OGN) with help from First Church of Evans will be conducting Project: Keep Evans Warm and Fed. This project is now underway and will end December 21. This year, the need has increased substantially. OGN never has enough warm clothing to distribute and they feed an average of 350 area residents per week. Collected will be winter clothing, non-perishable foods and paper goods. We will accept new or used winter coats, gloves, boots, sneakers and hats in all sizes, colors and styles. Children’s sizes are very popular. We only ask that any clothing donated be clean and in good condition. Food must be within shelf life. Accepted are dry and canned goods with examples consisting of soups, cereals, pasta and vegetables. Baby food is in great demand. During the holidays, frozen turkey breasts for families of one or two are needed. Current programs of assistance will not provide personal care items such as toothbrushes, Kleenex, paper towels disposable diapers, toilet paper and baby wipes so these will be collected also. Donations can be dropped off at OGN 2060 South Creek Rd. in North Evans.
