Fisheries ForuMs

Fisheries Forums

Working in partnership with the Environment Agency and funded by fishing licence income, the Angling Trust organises a series of Freshwater Fisheries Forums each year. These events take place both in-person and online, with the aim of empowering the angling community to share knowledge, address issues, and spread good practice. They are free to attend and open to all.

Regional Forums

Regional Fisheries Forums are in-person events which take place at different locations around the country. With expert guest speakers and Q&A sessions throughout, they provide an excellent platform for engaging with important local fisheries issues, as well as the opportunity to meet representatives from the Angling Trust and other key organisations. Local Environment Agency Fisheries Officers also maintain a presence at every meeting to share updates on their work, listen to anglers’ concerns, answer questions and address problems.

Virtual Forums

Virtual Fisheries Forums are single issue webinars run via Zoom. Lasting no longer than 1.5 hours, they seek to educate and upskill the angling community across a range of topics, as well as showcase some of the activities made possible by fishing licence income. Being interactive, they present an ideal opportunity for connecting with key individuals from the comfort of your own home. Past Virtual Forums have explored topics such as funding opportunities, predation, fisheries management and the work of Environment Agency staff.
