Lakes Grammar – Strategic Direction 2026–2029
Our Purpose
Lakes Grammar exists to provide a high-quality, affordable, values-based education that prepares young people for life beyond the school gates. Grounded in our Anglican tradition, we seek to nurture students who learn with curiosity, act with integrity, and contribute positively to their communities. Our 2026-2029 Strategic Plan is intentionally designed to advance the Newcastle Anglican Schools Corporation (NASC) strategic vision while responding to the unique context and priorities of the Lakes Grammar community. The direction outlined below reflects our shared commitment to Building Better Futures for our students and the wider community they will serve.
Our Context
We are living in a time of rapid social, technological, and environmental change. In this context, a strong education must do more than prepare students academically. It must help them develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions they need to navigate complexity, form meaningful relationships, and live with purpose, joy, and generosity.
Our Strategic Focus
Each of the five strategic focus areas will shape the school’s impact over the life of this plan:

We foster motivated, responsible learners by cultivating strong study habits and learning dispositions, providing targeted academic support, and creating enriching extension opportunities that enable every student to achieve their personal best.

We nurture students’ holistic wellbeing through a cohesive spiritual, social, and personal development framework. This is developed through a rich wellbeing curriculum, meaningful service and co-curricular experiences, clearly defined rites of passage, and behaviour expectations that reinforce respect, resilience, and responsibility.

We deliver a consistent, evidence-informed approach to teaching, using data to strengthen practice while recognising that every student is unique and shaped by a broader personal context. We invest in our staff through meaningful professional learning and mentoring that builds capability and confidence.
We build a thriving and engaged school community by enhancing communication, empowering parents to support student wellbeing and learning, and providing rich opportunities for partnership, involvement, celebration, and promotion of the life and achievements of our school.
We create a welcoming, functional, and future-focused school environment by investing in outdoor learning and recreational spaces, uplifting the aesthetic appeal of our grounds and facilities, addressing essential infrastructure needs, and progressing a master plan that guides sustainable growth for years to come.
Annual planning
This strategic direction provides a clear framework to guide key projects, priorities and decision-making over the next four years. While the core goals will remain consistent, initiatives will be implemented through staged, annual planning to ensure responsiveness to emerging needs and opportunities.
Ongoing feedback and consultation
Ongoing feedback and consultation will help to ensure this strategy remains grounded in the lived experience of our community, enabling the School to listen, reflect, and adjust as needed.
