The tourist brochures for the 104-kilometre Great Ocean Walk feature lithe 20-somethings, rucksacks hoisted on backs, setting out with purposeful strides, their gaze on the far horizon. You could be forgiven for thinking that this is a demanding trek, only suited to the young and athletic with a penchant for eating dehydrated food and sleeping on the ground.
