Residents and tourists rely heavily on the Great Ocean Road being open and available for year-round use.

Highlights

Towns nestled along the Great Ocean Road from Anglesea to Warrnambool cling to the coastline. Viewed from the elevation of the hills behind these towns, they appear isolated and enclosed within the Otway Forest.

Emergency Management

This string of townships and small settlements all depend heavily on the Great Ocean Road for nearly everything that makes them run, so that we probably take the importance of the road for granted.
