Surf Coast Kids Complete Kokoda By Jenna Crawford
Amazing! Humbling! Rewarding! Challenging! Unique! These are the words Ryan Doyle, a Year 9 student from Torquay's Surf Coast Secondary College, and Noah Lingam, a Year 11 student from Lorne P-12 College, used to describe their recent hike of the Kokoda Trail. Ryan was one of 11 students who went to Kokoda from Surf Coast Secondary College. He had the desire to walk the track because his mother had done it previously and he wanted to, literally, walk in her footsteps. He had viewed Community Houses are for Everyone
videos his mother had taken whilst she endured the hike. The total cost incurred by Ryan was $4800. He undertook fundraising activities in an attempt to raise the
