INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO Established in year 2008, Surface R is a Malaysia based interior design firm that has grown strength to strength under the leadership of founder, Stanley Leong and principal designer, Sam Leong. Complete head to toe residential design for gorgeous clients is our ultimate joy. Every piece is authentically designed by Surface R. They are not solely focused on the space also on living standard, but they emphasize on introducing a whole concept of space. Surface R provides interior design consultancy to ensure that your space will be unique and exemplary. Surface R want its clients to feel the preciousness of beauty which brings the sense of wellbeing.
Services As the primary focus is design, Surface R is a purely design orientated consultancy. They design, develop and assist clients in appointing the builders and contractors. They also involve ourselves fully and responsibly during the entire construction process by working closely alongside the builder and contractor. While they have a preference to work with carpenters and contractors we are familar and confident with, they are open to meeting and working with different people. They also provide services where they assist clients to select and procure loose furnishings.

Surface R is currently mostly focused more in the design of residential projects instead of commercial projects, which we understand it from the interviewer and from their website page.

Surface R’s office given a monochromatic scheme of black, white and middle ground grey which exude a top-notch, business like mannerism with a sleek touch to it. Distinctly, the designers combined it with a vintage element, tiling the greeting lobby with an old school black and pure white brick walls. Finding the balance between practicality, interactive and aesthetics; the designers decided to go with an open concept layout with combinations of formal and casual working spaces.

A shop lot design as a industry pattern and interior is using a modern industrial concept, black furnishings and strategic use of render finishing on the cement floor, this saloon has a truly grand ambiance. In combination with neutral colors of white, grey, black as a setting, infuses the space with a sense of vigor and warmths reception area with cement counter has a striking yet comfortable atmosphere. A stylish white brick wall behind the reception table leaves a sense of fluid cleansing purity. Small bulb lighting illuminate the whole space and let the guests enjoying the cozy place.

Finalize refine the internal layouts plans, section & elevation and specify key finishes and materials for the floors, walls, furniture etc and also define the lighting concepts.

Work with the client to build a detailed brief(3D Virtual) and identify their design preferences.

Final Phase As the project concludes, the company will visit site to inspect all the works & prepare a schedule of defects if required. at last, they will assist the project manager in preparing and issuing the practical completion certificate.
Production Completed the construction details and start to develop fully detailed finishes schedules and FF&E(Furniture Fixtures & Equipment) specifications for every area in the property.
Tender & Mobilisation The design team will advise on the best form of contract & appropriate contractors to issue the tender pack and develop the construction program. Once the contractor is appointed, the company undertake workshops to review the design proposals with them in detail.
Site Analysis & 3D Virtual Study of the site or property and find out more about the client and their design ambitions for the project.
Material Selection
Finalize with all the material and lighting fixtures selection .
