TALKS & FGD

BIM in High-Rise Buildings.

The presentation on BIM in High-Rise Buildings highlights the shift from 2D drawings to 3D models, enabling dynamic data management and analyses like area calculations and solar studies. Our BIM Manager, Heri M. Fakhri share his insights on the presentation, "BIM in High-Rise Buildings" which highlights the shift from 2D drawings to 3D models, enabling dynamic data management and analyses like area calculations and solar studies. It emphasizes organized model segmentation (e.g., tower, podium, MEP systems) for better collaboration and efficiency, showcasing BIM's transformative impact on high-rise design and construction.

Adaptive Design Talks at LDAD with Herzog & de Meuron, OMA, and DCM.

On October 1, 2024, our principal architect, Budi Sumaatmadja, spoke at LIXIL Day of Architecture and Design (LDAD), presenting insights on adaptive design. His talk, “Architecture that Transforms with Time,” focused on two key projects by Anggara Architeam: Hotel Indonesia (now Hotel Indonesia Kempinski) andEpiwalk Kuningan.

Hotel Indonesia, Jakarta's first high-rise built for the 1962 Asian Games, was redesigned between 2003-2008 by CallisonRTKL and Anggara Architeam to adapt to the evolving urban landscape. Epiwalk Kuningan, a riverside low-rise development in South Jakarta, blends seamlessly with its high-rise surroundings and is set for completion in 2025, offering a unique riverfront experience.

Improving Data Center Performance Scalability: An Architectural Approach.

With nearly 30 years of experience in architecture, our journey in designing data centers began with the Indonesian operator cellular project (2002–2013), which evolved from a medium-scale functional building to a regional office and main switching hub across Java, Sumatra, and Sulawesi. Over time, this project grew into large-scale data centers optimized for advanced technology in industrial areas.

Our Project Director, Noegroho Tjiptorahardjo, shared his insights at the Project Community event, “The Phenomenon of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Development of Data Centers in Indonesia.” His presentation, “Improving Data Center Performance Scalability: An Architectural Approach,” highlighted our data center projects from 2020  to the present.

PROJECTS SHOWCASE

From Scenic Views to Seamless Connections

Nestled in the prime area of South Jakarta, where high-rise buildings blending with nature environment. The project focuses on highlighting the restoration, and transformation of the space through a closer connection between the main building and its riverside surroundings.

The design process uncovered two key opportunities to enhance the project. We discovered two untapped potentials that could be further developed to enhance the project’s impact.

Maximizing the potential of the site context, the first advantage lies in the project's location by the river. The second is the sleek glass facade, which offers more than a modern aesthetic.

Its transparency and clean lines have the ability to foster better interaction with the surrounding landscape, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces and encouraging a stronger connection to nature.

The design into an inclusive feels welcome, surroundings.

design transforms the urban space inclusive area where everyone welcome, while respecting its surroundings.

Canopy of Connection: A Symbol of Community and Nature

The goal is to create an inclusive environment that fosters social connection, trust, and a sense of safety for the user and visitors. To support this vision, the design features a unique plate-shaped "floating garden" placed vertically.

The idea is to balance natural elements such as water and greenery, bringing plants from the ground into public spaces above. It enhances the riverside area, which is located in front of the Epiwalks, by creating a visual connection through the garden, blending nature seamlessly into the urban setting.

Above the main lobby area, a large, tray-shaped canopy serves as both a striking landmark and a meaningful symbol. Inspired by Tampah, a traditional tool for gathering, the canopy embodies the spirit of bringing people together.

It welcomes people from diverse backgrounds, encouraging connection and fostering a sense of community within its surroundings.

Sited in a prime location in Aceh, the capital city of North Sumatra, this headquarter of Bank BSI, comprises an 8-storey office building with 17.531,20 sqm.

In this land rich in cultural value—Aceh—the client’s vision seeks to embrace unique local cultural signatures, pioneering the integration of open spaces and sustainable green elements.

The BSI Building features a structure with widened facades on the north and south sides. These widened facades are strategically positioned to avoid direct exposure to excessive sunlight from the east and west.

Responsibly Reducing Energy and Water Consumption

Sustainability is thoughtfully integrated into the design, with solar panels on the canopy generating electricity to support an efficient air conditioning system and LED lighting. Additionally, rainwater and recy cled water are employed for irrigation and toilet facilities, reinforcing a responsible approach to resource management.

BSI Facade Pattern, A Symbol of Gratitude and Unity with Local Context

The podium level of the high-rise features a glass structure covered by an additional layer with patterns inspired by the unique pattern of Bungong Awang-Awang and Meurante, Aceh’s traditional pattern. Furthermore, The star's icon and color from the BSI logo is echoed in the rooftop podium ceiling.

The orange ceiling which visible from the exterior, serves as a key accent and focal point of the building design. At night, lights from inside the building shine through, making the patterns stand out beautifully.

Bringing Nature into the Heart of Retail

The design of the three main atriums elevates the retail experience by connecting it with nature through three key narratives : Nexus, Aviary and Nautical.

These narratives collectively blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors, transforming the mall into a nature-inspired retreat that enriches the shopping experience.

The Nexus concept on Central atrium, balances light and shadow through dramatic oculus skylights.

The Nautical narrative captures the serenity of underwater life, with fish-shaped pendant lights that mimic shimmering water

The Aviary narrative celebrates Earth's natural balance, envisioning the mall as a serene habitat where humans connect with nature.
