I would be a happy tree, and a friend to all the creatures of the earth.” -Dar Hosta These exceptional times in which nature is sending us a message, we should start caring more about our home planet, we should start creating a Healthy Environment for many generations to come. eTwinners, members of the Creative Classroom Group encouraged their students to raise their voice to this, dedicating a poem to our mother nature to celebrate World Environment Day on 5th June. The purpose of this type of creative writing was to help students express their feelings, thoughts or emotions on the consequences of the Climate Change and send a message of awareness.

During the 1st part of the activity students got inspired by the following word cloud tree

and along with their teachers wrote poems, picking up words from the tree and adding their own as well having fun either at school, outdoors or while learning from distance. They had to share their poems in this padlet creating a big virtual wall of poems.

In the 2nd part of the activity, they selected one of the poems and they were very creative using their imagination to continue the poem with their own verses, to read loudly the poem creating videos, to re-write it using comic-strips, acrostics, illustrations and even a rap song. All the outcomes were then uploaded in a new padlet.

This edition, full of poems dedicated to our Planet Earth, comes as an award to all the students, from Kindergarten till High school, and their teachers who took part in this challenging activity.
