In the future!

“One day Dr. Johnson was working with his newest project in the countryside.

He built a fantastic time machine, but he didn’t know if it worked. Suddenly Mary appeared, walked into the machine and pressed a button.”

“Good morning Dr Johnson” The machine said.

“I am not Dr. Johnson, my name is Mary” “Hello Mary” the machine answered.

“Oooo what is it?” Mary pressed a button and the machine started moving.

“Oooo no!” The doctor shouted. “Don’t press that button” But suddenly, Mary disappeared.

“Where are we going machine?” Mary asked.

“We are going to the future” the machine said. “We arrive”.

“Look” Mary said “There are a lot of people there, what are they doing? they are all working, touching a giant screen, they have very small machines on their hands…”

“Yes, they are in the future, this is the way that we will live in the future” the machine said .

“Oooooo, will students not go to school? Will we use our mobile phones to pay things in the supermarket?” Mary asked surprised.

“Yes Mary. In the future everything will be controlled by machines. The students will not go to school, the teacher will be at the computer, and he will teach the students through a video and through the use of the internet. The students’ parents also will be at home working with their computers, and when we want to buy something we will not use money, we will use our mobile phone that will be our computer, credit card and best friend” said the machine.

“OK, I want to know more things about them” said Mary as she went out of the machine.

“Hello, she said to a man touching a giant screen. My name is Mary” Mary said.

“Hi, I am Jeremy” the man said without looking at her.

“What are you doing?” Mary asked.

“I am working. I am a pilot” Jeremy said.

“A pilot?” Mary asked. “Where are the plane and the people travelling?

“This is not necessary. Where do you live?” Jeremy asked.

“I live in the year 2029, we go to a plane in order to travel and a pilot drives the plane. We don’t use this giant screens, children go to school and there the teacher teaches them different things.” Mary explained to Jeremy.

“Oooo, interesting, that is the way we lived and this is the way you will live in the future. Come with me, I will introduce you some of my friends.” John said.

Hi Shipy, here is Mary a friend from the past.

“Hello Mary, I am Shipy. Nice to meet you” Shipy said.

“Ooooo, you are a spaceship. Do a lot of people travel with you?” Mary asked.

“Of course, people love Mars and Jupiter, these planets are their favourites” “Mars, Jupiter? But you are talking about the space. Will we travel to the space in the future?” Asked Mary with her mouth opened.

“Of course Mary, the spaceships like me, will be as your planes, everyone will use us in the future. In the space you will find fantastic museums, shopping malls, beaches, hotels, and a lot of people living there”.

“Fantastic, I will travel to the space!” said Mary happily.

Suddenly the machine appeared.

“Ey Mary come on, it’s late!” The machine said.

“Ooooo, this is a time machine” Shipy said. “But it is a bit old” “Old? This is the first one. Nobody used it before”. Mary explained.

“Hello machine I am Shippy in the future you will be better than now”. Shipy said.

“Ok. I hope so” The machine said. “Now we must go back home, Mary” “Yes, goodbye John. Bye Shipy” Mary said.

“Bye Mary! Nice to meet you” Said all together.
