TAMING THE HEDGE!
This month, I thought I would look at a perennial garden design challenge: hedging. Itâs a familiar story, plant a neat boundary hedge with the best intentions only to find that ten years down the line it has become an unruly giant, towering overhead and far beyond manageable reach. What began as structure and privacy can quickly turn into a maintenance headache if not planned and handled correctly.
The first thing to remember is that a hedge is, no different from any other woody shrub. Left to its own devices, it will continue to grow without limit. Plants do not possess an internal âstopâ button; they respond to their environment, not our design intentions. Without intervention, they will simply keep getting bigger. The second key point is often overlooked: most hedging plants are, in fact, trees. When planted individually and allowed to grow naturally, many of the species we commonly use for hedging will mature into full-sized trees. That compact row of green you plant today may have ambitions far greater than the tidy boundary you envision. With these two principles in mind, the importance of regular maintenance becomes clear. Pruning is not just cosmetic it is essential. Consistent trimming encourages dense growth, maintains the desired height and width, and prevents the hedge from becoming leggy or top-heavy. Little and often is far better than infrequent, drastic cutting, which can stress plants and leave unsightly gaps.
much slower. Privet is another classic, valued for its adaptability and quick establishment.
For a more traditional or wildlife-friendly option, holly makes an excellent dense hedge with the added bonus of winter berries. Conifers, too, are widely used, though they require careful management, as many varieties can quickly become too tall and difficult to reduce.
Then we have deciduous hedges, which bring seasonal interest and a softer, more natural feel.
Beech and hornbeam are particularly effective, holding onto their dry, coppery leaves well into winter, which provides a degree of screening even after leaf fall. Hawthorn is another excellent choice, especially for rural settings, offering blossom in spring and berries in autumn while supporting wildlife.
For those looking to think outside the box, there are also some alternative hedging. Rosemary can be clipped into a low, fragrant hedge in sunny, well-drained positions. Bay trees lend themselves beautifully to shaping and provide both structure and culinary value. Photinia offers vibrant red new growth, adding a splash of colour to boundaries. Potentilla creates a lower, flowering hedge that is easy to maintain, while Osmanthus burkwoodii delivers evergreen structure along with highly scented spring flowers.
When choosing a hedge, itâs also worth considering whether you want evergreen or deciduous planting.
Evergreen hedges provide year-round structure and privacy, making them a popular choice. Reliable options include cherry laurel and Portuguese laurel, both of which offer lush, glossy foliage and vigorous growth, although Portuguese Laurel is far more manageable and
Choose the right plant for the right place, understand its natural growth habit, and be realistic about the maintenance. A well-managed hedge can be one of the most effective and attractive elements in a garden providing privacy, structure, and year-round interest.
Happy Gardening!

THE STORY BEHIND THE BRAMHALL TOGETHER TRUST.
For nearly two decades, the Bramhall Together Trust has been the quiet force behind some of the villageâs best-loved events. From the bustling Bramhall Festival in the summer to the festive sparkle of Light Up Bramhall, these events have become a central part of the community calendar. A significant misconception exists among many residents and local businesses: the village celebrations are not large, councilrun operations. In reality, a small team of local volunteers organises these events. They dedicate hundreds of hours each year to planning, fundraising, and delivering the celebrations that unify the community. While some council support is provided, most of the funding comes from market stall fees, our bar and sponsorship from local businesses.
Local businesses can also get involved through sponsorship opportunities, which provide both community impact and valuable visibility during some of the villageâs busiest days. We offer a range of packages starting at ÂŁ100.
You can offer support on the day by visiting the Bramhall Together Trust Bar. Situated conveniently in the heart of the event on Bramhall Lane South, we provide attractively priced drinks. Every single penny of profit is to fund Light Up Bramhall. The bar is run entirely by volunteers, so please come and say hello!
With the support of residents and businesses alike, the Bramhall Together Trust hopes to ensure that these much-loved celebrations continue for many years to comeâso that, 18 years from now, a new generation can still enjoy the best days in the Bramhall calendar.

LIVING WELL WITH DEMENTIA:
Small Changes That Make a Big
Difference
Adiagnosis of dementia can feel overwhelming, both for the individual and their loved ones. It is often associated with lossâof memory, independence, and identity. However, it is important to remember that a diagnosis does not mean life stops. With the right support, environment, and mindset, people living with dementia can continue to enjoy meaningful, fulfilling lives.
One of the most effective ways to support someone with dementia is by focusing on what they can do, rather than what they have lost. Abilities may change over time, but many people retain skills, preferences, and emotional connections. Encouraging independence, even in small daily tasks like dressing, preparing simple meals, or choosing activities, can help maintain confidence and a sense of purpose.
âHe is a very special client to us in Bramhall, living with dementia, and we are proud to support him with several visits throughout the day.â
Establishing a consistent routine is another key factor in living well with dementia. Familiar patterns provide comfort and reduce confusion or anxiety. Simple habits such as waking up, eating meals, and going to bed at the same time each day can create a reassuring structure. Keeping the home environment predictableâ by leaving commonly used items in the same placeâcan also make daily life easier to navigate. Memory aids can be incredibly helpful in supporting day-to-day functioning. Calendars, clocks, labelled cupboards, and reminder notes can act as gentle prompts. Technology can also play a role, with smartphone alarms or voice assistants offering reminders for appointments or medication. These tools promote independence while reducing frustration.
Staying physically and mentally active is equally important. Gentle exercise, such as walking or stretching, can improve mood, sleep, and overall health. Activities like listening to music, doing puzzles, reading, or engaging in hobbies can stimulate the brain and provide enjoyment.
Often, activities connected to past interests or routines are the most meaningful and comforting.
Social interaction should not be overlooked. Maintaining relationships with family and friends can help reduce feelings of isolation and support emotional wellbeing. Even simple conversations, shared meals, or short visits can make a significant difference. Community groups or dementia-friendly activities can also provide opportunities for connection in a supportive environment.
Equally important is creating a safe and supportive living space. Small adjustmentsâsuch as removing trip hazards, improving lighting, and using clear signageâcan enhance safety and confidence. A calm, clutter-free environment can help reduce confusion and agitation.
Finally, patience and understanding are essential. Dementia affects everyone differently, and there will be good days and more challenging ones. Responding with reassurance, rather than correction, can help maintain dignity and reduce distress. It is not about getting everything right, but about creating moments of comfort, connection, and joy.
Living well with dementia is about adapting, not giving up. By making small, thoughtful changes and focusing on strengths, it is possible to support a life that remains rich in meaning, dignity, and human connection.

MAKING UPHOLSTERY WORK
Creating a cohesive design for a room is more than choosing things you like, if you just collect items that take your fancy it runs the risk of looking like itâs all been âplonkedâ there. Itâs blending colours, pattern and textures, building depth with similar tones and complementing colours, or putting plains with patterns for that pop of colour and style. Looking at the neutral sofa here, layers of similar tones with the fabrics showcase the calming atmosphere. The colours in the patterns are minimal with the sofa, curtains and walls plain. Thereâs a muted blue in the cushion, if you wanted to add a colour Iâd go with this for the odd accessory, cushion or fleck in a rug.
The bedroom again is calming with the light, neutral tones in this bright room. The mural wall is a beautiful backdrop to the patterned headboard. Although similar in colour, the patterns, depth of cushioning and fabric and the border of pins separate them. The background mural isnât as busy as the headboard pattern and the fabric has more warm tones in there with light beiges and creams. Lamps have been chosen for their pattern, then the bedding is plain white which draws your attention to the fabulous elevation. A wooden floor with a self patterned beige or cream rug would keep the space feeling

Mindset Advice THINK BEFORE YOU JAB
Weight loss injections are everywhere. Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro. You canât scroll through social media without seeing them mentioned alongside positive case studies.
For certain people - those with type 2 diabetes, or who have genuinely struggled with obesity for years - these medications can be life saving, and Iâm not here to criticise their use.
But I do want to make a point that perhaps isnât being made loudly enough.
These drugs are medical interventions. They therefore fit in âmedical situationsâ, however, they can âmedicaliseâ non medical situations unnecessarily.
Why is this a potential problem?
Every medical intervention carries side effects, and generally their use case balances these side effects (or risks) against the benefits of use. If the benefits outweigh the risks then their use is rational.
Side effects such as nausea, fatigue, muscle loss, mental disturbances and digestive problems are commonly reported, but many of the long-term effects of the jabs are not yet known. Therefore, if your health is not at critical levels of risk due to obesity, diabetes or heart disease, then before reaching for the prescription (and your wallet!), I think itâs essential to exhaust every other avenue first.
Spring is as good time a time as any to make a few changes, and these five suggestions are a great start.
Get moving in the morning. Just ten minutes. A walk, some yoga or bodyweight exercises. It kick starts your body and your mindset for the day. It doesnât have to be complicated.
Try a morning meditation. Five to ten minutes of mindfulness or a short, relaxing hypnotic
practice reduces cortisol levels, which directly affects weight gain and food cravings. Over time, the cumulative effect is significant.
Look at what youâre actually eating. Make a handful of positive tweaks. More protein, more vegetables, less processed food, slower eating. Small, sustainable, consistent changes that accumulate over time.
Review your alcohol intake. Alcohol disrupts sleep, damages the brain, spikes insulin, weakens decision-making around food, and adds empty calories. Cutting back, even a little, has a positive ripple effect across almost everything.
Sort out your sleep. Poor sleep raises hunger hormones and makes every other healthy behaviour harder. Consistent bedtime, cool dark room, daily exercise, no screens in the hour before bed, reduce caffeine. These are simple but effective sleep boosting tips.
They may be obvious, but most people have never tried all of these things together.
If you find it overwhelming or impossible to think about behavioural and lifestyle change, then perhaps you should seek support with that before googling weight loss jabs.
And if you do want support, Iâll have a think about whether I know any top rated behavioural change experts who could helpâŠ

A FREE DAY OUT THIS SUMMER?
Looking for a free day out this summer? Hansonsâ grade-II listed Staffordshire saleroom is the perfect location â and you can get your treasures valued at the same time â writes TV auctioneer Charles Hanson. It is now several years since we expanded Derby-based Hansons Auctioneers into Staffordshire, when I purchased the Georgian mansion Bishton Hall in Wolseley Bridge. You might know me from telly programmes like Bargain Hunt, Flog It! and Antiques Road Trip since 2002. But TV is only half the story. Because, for me, the real career highlights are not in front of the television cameras, they are on the rostrum and discovering hidden treasures. Nothing gives me more pleasure than unearthing forgotten heirlooms at valuation days. When people bring in what they think are worthless bits of costume jewellery their jaws drop when I tell them that it could be worth thousands. I knew Bishton Hall would be the perfect backdrop to stage country house sales and the ideal setting to showcase fine art and antiques â as well as find them. Every last Sunday of the month we host a âSuper Sundayâ lifestyle sale at the hall â with the next on May 31 and then June 28 with viewing on the Saturday before from 10am-4pm and on the day of the sale from 10am. Midweek our team of experts also hosts free valuations in the main building. So if youâve ever wondered about the story or value behind a treasured piece of jewellery, this is the perfect opportunity.
Kerri Keeling FGA DGA, our head of jewellery, silver and watches offers her expertise Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm with no appointment necessary. Whether itâs an inherited heirloom, an old jewellery box discovery or something you simply feel curious about, youâll receive clear, professional advice.
Kerri is a fully qualified gemmologist, with specialist expertise in diamonds, coloured gemstones, antique and vintage jewellery, silver and watches. She brings both knowledge and careful attention to every piece she examines.
After a visit to Kerri you can carry on exploring this wonderful location.
The stunning grade II-listed building dates back the mid 18th century and, for a history fanatic like me with a passion for architecture, it is nothing short of magical.
Visitors can enjoy a stroll in the beautiful surrounding gardens, taking in the superb Temple Garden, which features one of the best Doric screens in the country. Best of all in these cash-strapped times, the whole experience â even the parking â is free.
If shopping is your thing, then the courtyard has some of the best boutiques around, housing even a local gin distillery.
And when you are ready for a sit down, the dog-friendly Sparrows tearoom is open every day from 10am-3pm offering one of the best â and biggest â afternoon teas I have every had.
So if you are looking for a free, dog-friendly day out for all the family take a trip to Bishton and, who knows, you might also discover you are sitting on an auction goldmine. If you wish to contact Kerri ahead of your visit, you can email kkeeling@hansonsauctioneers.co.uk or call 07702 084399. Bishton Hall and Garden is located at Bellamour Lane, Stafford, ST17 0XN.

LANDLORDS IN 2026: TAX, TENANTS AND
A CHANGING
Being a landlord had never been a completely handsoff investment, but in 2026 itâs fair to say the role is becoming more...⊠involved. Between tax changes, rising costs, and with impending new regulations on the horizon, itâs a good time to take stock and make sure nothing catches you off guard.
MTD for Income Tax replaces the traditional Letâs start with the issue that continues to bite: mortgage interest relief. Gone are the days when finance costs could simply be deducted from rental income. Instead, landlords now receive just a basic rate tax credit. While that may not sound too painful, in practice it often means higher taxable profits and, for many, a bigger tax billâparticularly for higher rate taxpayers. Add in higher interest rates, and itâs easy to see why margins are feeling squeezed.
And itâs not just finance costs. General expenses are also increasing. Repair and maintenance costs, and compliance requirements all seem to be heading in one direction and rental income doesnât always keep pace. The result is that profitability is under more pressure than many landlords have been used to.
On top of this, thereâs a change that affects how landlords report their income. From April 2026, those with rental income over ÂŁ50,000 will fall within the new Making Tax Digital for Income Tax mechanism. In simple terms, this means moving from one annual tax return to a system of digital record-keeping and quarterly updates to HMRC. Itâs a shift that may feel like extra admin at first, but it should also mean fewer last-minute scrambles and a clearer view of your tax position throughout the year.
Then thereâs Capital Gains Tax to consider, especially for those thinking about selling a residential property. The rules havenât changed dramatically recently, but the reduced annual exemption and the requirement to report and pay tax within 60 days of a disposal mean that planning ahead is more important than ever.
RULEBOOK
A well-timed sale can still make a noticeable difference to the final tax bill.
Alongside all of this sits the much-discussed Rentersâ Rights Act 2025. This is about to introduce some of the biggest changes the sector has seen in years. The abolition of Section 21 âno-faultâ evictions is the headline change, alongside a broader shift towards stronger tenant rights and more structured tenancy arrangements.
For landlords, this doesnât mean panicâbut it does mean preparation. Processes for regaining possession are likely to become more formal, and expectations around property standards will continue to rise. In practice, that means good record-keeping, clear agreements, and keeping well-maintained properties will become even more important.
Finally, energy efficiency remains one to watch. While deadlines have moved around, the general direction is clear: the requirement for higher standards is coming, so investing in improvements now could help spread the cost and avoid a last-minute rush later.
So, whatâs the takeaway? In 2026, being a landlord is less about sitting back but more about staying organised. The good news is that with a bit of forward planning and the right advice, most of these changes are manageable. And while the rules may keep evolving, a well-run property portfolio can still deliver solid long-term returnsâeven if it requires a little more attention than it used to.

BRAMHALL & WOODFORD ROTARY CLUB DUCK RACE AND FAMILY FUN DAY
YES! IT IS DUCK RACE TIME AGAIN!
Even though the restoration work continues at Bramall Hall we have received permission for the Duck Race to go ahead, in safety, without too much disruption alongside the renovations. Please take care around the building works compound.
So, Bramhall and Woodford Rotary Club is once again holding the Duck Race and Family Fun Day and, as usual, it will be held at Bramhall Park on Sunday May 17th. The Club is very pleased to announce that Leighton Snow Estate Agents have once again agreed to sponsor this event along with the Vernon Building Society. It is also supported by Strawberry Radio and Stockport M.B.C.
Last year we had hundreds of families turn up on the day many of whom use the popular DUCK BUS Park & Rideservice. Thanks to Belle Vue Coaches we will have THREE (yes, three!) free buggy friendly buses running throughout the day between Woodford Garden Village (via Bramhall) and the Park, Hazel Grove High School (satnav SK7 5JX) and from Church Road, Cheadle Hulme with parking available at the Cheadle Hulme School (satnav SK8 6EF). Look out for the yellow DUCK BUS. Please use them if you can but if you have to come in a vehicle please park carefully and respectfully.
Starting at 11.00am, there will be a variety of duck races to watch and there will be speciality races with local celebrities and businesses getting involved by decorating giant racing ducks that will then go beak to beak in the river. As well as Duck Racing, with some fabulous prizes for the winners, there will be many sideshows â fairground rides, bouncy castle and craft stalls. Come and try Bhangra-cise with Raj, watch the amazing Sparklers Elite Cheerleading and listen to the Pantonics All Star Steel Orchestra. Singers and dance groups from the area will entertain you throughout the day.
The money raised will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association, South Manchester. Their Associationâs mission is to support people living with MND, their carers, families and friends. The Branch aims to provide support for people affected by MND, raise awareness in the Greater Manchester area and influence local policy and decision-makers to benefit people affected by MND and liaise with health and social care professionals. And other charities and good causes supported by the Rotary Club will also benefit.
Entry to the event is still free but please buy a ticket for a duck in one of the Thousand Duck races for just a pound. They are available on the day or online now at www.bwrotary.org You could be a winner of ÂŁ100! But you have to be in it to win it!!

The ever-popular Mamma Mia (Netflix) continues to inspire with sun-soaked scenes filmed on Skopelos and Skiathos, capturing the timeless appeal of the Greek islands. Meanwhile, Bridgerton (Netflix) highlights the graceful Georgian architecture of Bath and other historic UK locations, inspiring travellers drawn to heritage and classic English charm.
Wherever your latest screen-inspired destination may be, turning that spark of inspiration into a truly memorable journey is where thoughtful planning makes all the difference. Sometimes, all it takes is one unforgettable scene to start the adventure.

WHY BRIGHTER EVENINGS CAN DISRUPT YOUR SLEEP
By Chris Heywood, Principal Osteopath at Bramhall Osteopathic Practice
As we move into spring and summer, longer, brighter evenings are something most of us welcome. But one of the common issues I see in clinic this time of year is a subtle drop in sleep quality.
Many people donât realise just how sensitive the body is to light.
Our internal body clock, known as the circadian rhythm, is heavily influenced by light exposure. As evenings get brighter, the brain delays the release of melatonin, the hormone that helps us fall asleep. In simple terms, your body still thinks itâs daytime when youâre trying to wind down. This often leads to:
n Difficulty falling asleep
addressed.
The good news is that small changes can make a meaningful difference.
One of the simplest is controlling light exposure in the evening. While blackout curtains can help, theyâre not always practical. A well-designed blackout eye mask is an easy and effective alternative.
By creating complete darkness, it supports natural melatonin production and helps the body transition more effectively into sleep. Many people find they fall asleep quicker and wake feeling more refreshed.
n Lighter, more disrupted sleep
n Waking feeling unrefreshed
From an osteopathic perspective, sleep plays a critical role in overall health. It is when the body carries out repair, regulates inflammation, and resets the nervous system.
Poor sleep doesnât just affect energy levels. It can contribute to:
n Increased aches and pains
n Slower recovery from injury
n Reduced ability to manage stress
This is often why patients with ongoing physical complaints donât fully improve until their sleep is
Sleep is one of the foundations of health, yet itâs often overlooked. As the evenings get lighter, itâs worth paying a little more attention to your sleep environment.
Sometimes, the simplest interventions can have the biggest impact.

Minted Tahini Sauce (and
1 Lemon
2 tbsp tahini
2 tbsp cold water
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
150g Greek yoghurt
Handful of mint leaves finely chopped
things to do with it)
Zest and juice half the lemon into a bowl then add the tahini. Pour in the water and the olive oil. Stir until smooth adding a pinch of salt as you go. Spoon in the yoghurt and mint leaves and stir through. Keep refrigerated until you want to use it.
Griddled Romaine lettuce
Cut 2 small romaine lettuce in half ditching the outer tatty leaves and keeping the root in tact. Rub the cut side with olive oil and some salt. Heat a frying pan or your BBQ to a very high heat and cook until charred. Put on a platter then drizzle with the sauce. Garnish with some dill or extra chopped mint.
Broad bean, Pea and Green Bean salad.
Blanche your vegetables in boiing water for a few minutes (I like to pod the broad beans so you get the uber green beans inside the outer dull shell) Blanche the green beans last. Transfer to iced water to cool completely then drain. Mix together in your serving bowl and drizzle over plenty of the sauce and toss through. Garnish with mint and parsley and serve.
This sauce is also good with a clove of garlic grated into it and then drizzled over charred lamb chops or chicken kebabs.
This month we celebrated our 1-year anniversary and are pleased to see attendance numbers continuing to rise as more people find out about us. We run two WhatsApp groups; one quiet (broadcast only) where we share updates and information about any upcoming guest speakers we may have invited. The second WhatsApp group is interactive, more social and chattier with conversation most days and extra meet ups organised here. People can choose to belong to one, none or both groups as suits them. (I have included a QR code above which people can scan to see our poster and join the two WhatsApp groups)
We would encourage anyone who is experiencing chronic pain or fibromyalgia to pop down and give us a try. We are a friendly bunch, but we understand it can feel daunting the first time, weâve all been there. Donât take our word for it, listen to what our attendees have said about us.
âI love chatting to everyone and listening to othersâ problems, I forget my ownâ,
âI have to pretend to be ok too often. I donât have to pretend at the sessions. We can laugh, cry, support each other without judgement.â
âPeer support is fantastic mental health therapy.â
This week we had a visit from Specialist Pain Nurse Esther Sieff from Stockport Pain Service at Stepping Hill. She delivered a fantastic talk about sleep issues and how to try and ease them. (Photos attached). We try to get interesting, relevant speakers most months and in the last 6 months have had visits from Dr Paul Hood, Clinical Psychologist, Adam Finlay a specialist Physiotherapist, Chris Lynas, a Social Prescriber, the Work Well team from Stockport Council and other local voluntary and charitable services.

PILATES FOR POST NATAL AND MENOPAUSAL WOMEN
Recently I was asked the question who are my ideal clients? Whilst I usually advocate Pilates is suitable for everybody regardless of fitness or age I think my answer - Post Natal and Menopausal womensurprised them.
My ideal client isnât defined by fitness or age but what they are going through and what they are looking for. These two groups of women are navigating important life transitions and need to feel strong, supported and confident in their bodies.
What is Post Natal Pilates?
Post Natal Pilates is designed specifically for women after giving birth. It focuses on restoring muscle function safely rather than pushing intensity.
Postnatal Pilates helps rebuild core strength, particularly the deep abdominal muscles that support your body after pregnancy. It can also support the healing and management of diastasis recti, while strengthening the pelvic floor, which is essential for bladder control and overall stability.
Regular practice improves posture â especially helpful when feeding and carrying your baby â and can help reduce common aches such as back, neck, and hip pain. As well as the physical benefits, Pilates also supports mental wellbeing by reducing stress and helping you feel calmer, more balanced and more connected to your body.
Pilates for Menopausal women
Two significant factors for women going through the menopause are cardiovascular health and bone strength. Maintaining physical activity not only helps address but also protect against these conditions. Itâs important to mention that menopause isnât the cause of cardiovascular disease but often the lifestyle changes that commonly occur in this period of life that increase your risk.
Cardiovascular activities can be tricky during the
menopause if you are experiencing hot flushes. This should not put you off exercising though as 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week can improve your health risks.
Pilates is one of the most effective and sustainable ways to support your body through menopause. As hormones shift, your body response differently to exercise and Pilates meets that change with low-impact strength, control and recovery.
For menopausal women, the focus shifts towards supporting long-term health, building resilience, and helping them feel good in their bodies again. This includes addressing key considerations such as hormonal changes that affect strength, energy, and mood, maintaining bone density to help prevent osteoporosis, improving joint mobility, managing changes in weight distribution, and supporting stress and sleep.
Across both postnatal and menopausal women, the common thread is the need for gentle but progressive strength, alongside education, reassurance, breathwork, and nervous system regulation - all within a supportive and nonjudgemental environment.

Are you a parent exploring orthodontic options for your teenager? Fixed braces remain one of the most effective and reliable solutions for straightening teeth and correcting bite issues in teenagers and young adults. At our dental practice, we offer expert fixed brace treatments tailored specifically for teenagers, ensuring they achieve a healthier, more confident smile. Unlike removable aligners, fixed braces work consistently to move teeth into their ideal positions, making them especially effective for more complex orthodontic cases. Also, because brackets are bonded permanently, treatment progresses steadily without reliance on remembering to wear removable devices. Your teen will even get to wear them in their favourite colour!
TRANSFORMATIVE TREATMENT
Dental implants offer a fixed solution for missing or failing teeth. Unlike dentures, they feel just like your own teeth and as they are not removable, they give patients the freedom to enjoy foods that are difficult to eat when wearing dentures.
Fixed Braces for Teens at Cheadle Hulme Dental
As you can see, fixed braces produce amazing smile transformations (these are all cases from younger patients)
A dental implant is a titanium post that acts as a prosthetic tooth root surgically placed into the jawbone. We use medical-grade titanium because itâs strong and light, but also because it has the ability to fuse with living bone.
Fixed braces for teenagers are an effective and reliable way to correct dental and bite issues, helping your teen achieve a beautiful, functional smile that lasts a lifetime. If youâre considering orthodontic treatment for your teen, contact our practice today for a consultation. Weâre here to guide you through every step and help your teenager enjoy the confidence of a radiant smile, and with the added benefit of no long waiting lists.
Once the implant has fused with the surrounding bone tissue, it can be used as a foundation for a replacement tooth secured to the top of the dental implant. It can also support multiple implants such as bridges or dentures. Implants can be used to replace all of a patientâs missing or failing teeth in what we call an all-on-four procedure where patients have all their teeth removed and replaced with implants the very same day, giving them a âsame day smileâ where they walk away with a brand-new smile, in just one day.
OF OUR
For natural-looking and secure replacement teeth, patients visit us for dental implants from near and far. After the implants are placed, patients find that their eating and speaking ability has improved significantly, along with their confidence to smile again.Thatâs why dental implants are the gold standard for missing teeth replacement.
