THE STORM
“Mom must feel worry.” Bibi looked at the black cloud that was growing in the distance sky.

“No, she won’t. She knows how to keep her own safety and waits for us.” Bobinôt patted Bibi on his head.
“But, thunder! She is scared it!” Bibi screamed.
“She will be fine. Let’s truth her, don’t we?” Bobinôt said.
In the other side, Calixta, she was doing the housework and didn’t notice the closing storm.

Suddenly, she felt the storm and saw the black cloud from the window. She went out for fetch the washing in, and then she saw an unexpected person, Alcee, her ex-boyfriend. He ridded a white horse and asked, “May I come and wait on your home till the storm is over, Calixta?” The storm came too fast, Calixta hadn’t neither reply him or get the washing, all the clothes scatter by the strong wind. “Please, Calixta. Just until the strom is over.” Alcee said. Finally, Calixta compromised and let he in.

Calixta gave him a cup of milk and one for her own. She clasp the mug and keep bowing her head, she tries to avoid Alcee’s eyes. However, he didn’t care about the milk and keep looking at her.
“Calixta.” He said.
Followed by some thunder. To distract herself, she tried to focus by staring at the glass of milk in her hand. But he knew her more than herself, he walked to her side and when the thunder came, she finally lost it. She then threw herself at him, and he wrapped his arm around her tightly.

There was a storm outside as it was inside. They looked like starving beasts and kept devouring each other. After the storm passed, everywhere was messy.
Bobinôt and Bibi went back in hurry. Because both of them were covered in mud from head to toe, Bobinôt felt worry and had no idea how strict of a scolding the hostess would give them. He tries to clean up the mug before them got into the house, and then opened the door with nervous.

“Bobinôt! Bibi!” she screamed and stopped her works to hug them.
“Are you all right? The storm was crazy like a beast.” She kept checking if Bibi gets hurt and same to Bobinôt. After she made sure they were fine, but only got wet she brought them into the room and prepared the clean clothes for them.
“I made some soup for you.” She said with softly smile.
After the storm, everything as same as it never came.

Alcee wrote to his wife, Clarisse, that night. It was a loving letter, he told her how much he missed her, but not to hurry back if she and the babies liked it at Biloxi. He missed her, but he willing to surfing the pain of missing for them, because they were the things to be considered for him. And for Clarisse, she felt good at Biloxi and didn’t want to leave. In there, she had freedom that she had before the marriage.

After the storm, everyone was happy.
