UPDATE FROM SUMMERSIDE

Dear family members and friends of Andrews of Summerside,

We had a great summer at our home.

We held our annual summer party in-house this year. It was a great time. Residents and team members had a blast playing games, eating and enjoying some fun summer vibes

Residents also got out on bus tours, watched an authentic cultural dance performed by our Indian team members and played games like beach volleyball

This month we will celebrate Oktoberfest, a special resident birthday and create some autumn crafts We will also be taking part in the Andrewswide resident art show on September 18 at Andrews of Stratford

our resident retired teachers what they enjoyed most about “back to school.”

I enjoyed the youngsters, they were just children in Grade 6 and 7 and I was in my early 20s at that time So, I enjoyed their company and most of them, most of the time, enjoyed their company with Mr Toews

I just liked being with the kids and teaching I liked teaching The hardest thing was remembering who was who I don’t think I ever figured out a trick, (you) just get to know them

The first week with the kids I asked them to tell me their names and I wrote it down. By the end of the day, my goal was to remember all the kids in my classroom. I usually managed to do that.
