The sun was out on August 28th when we held our annual Family BBQ. Residents and their families enjoyed an afternoon of music, food and games in our backyard. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so special!

Dear family members and friends of ProTem Memory Care, A special thank you to everyone who came out for our Family BBQ on Friday.

We love being able to host everyone, share a meal and have some fun. It’s absolutely a highlight of the summer for our team.

In addition to the BBQ, August was a busy month at our homes. Residents enjoyed lots of outdoor time, crafting, music and outings.

This month we will transition into our fall programming with baking, crafting and wrapping up our gardening for the season. We are also participating in the Andrews Resident Art Show again this month and will be sharing some of our residents’ beautiful artwork with the Andrews team in P.E.I. The event was a great success last year and a wonderful opportunity to showcase the immense talent at ProTem. We hope you all had a great summer and wish you all the best this month!

ACTIVE AT PROTEM Residents enjoyed a visit from performer Cheryl Hopper, doing cognitive exercises like matching colours and shapes, golfing and creating UV shadow paintings with turmeric.

FEATURED RESIDENT

Sharon Lewis ProTem Memory Care

Sharon was born in Moncton in 1943.

Her father was in the Second World War. She was married to Harold Ross from 1959 to 2017, when Harold passed away. The two had six children.

Sharon worked in retail for most of her adult life at stores like Wilco and later Wal-Mart. She worked the garden centre every spring and nights the rest of the year.

She loves seafood but would probably choose pizza as her ideal meal. She was an excellent cook.

She is an avid gardener and loves spending time outdoors.

She considers raising her kids her proudest achievement. “I’m very proud of them.”
