Dear family members and friends of ProTem Memory Care,
We had a great month at ProTem.
We celebrated Valentine’s Day, took part in crafting and painting, did some baking and enjoyed live music.
This month we will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, try some different exercises, armchair travel to Ireland and welcome the start of spring (despite the cold )

Residents enjoyed taking part in a unique art project using water to paint. This was a mess-free way for residents to express themselves creatively. The best part is, after the paper dries, the colour disappears and can be reused!

esidents recently played a fun speculative game where we roll a dice and ask them what they’d ask for if a genie granted them a specific wish. For example, if a genie could give you any car you wanted - what would you drive? Or, if a genie could send you anywhere in the world, where would you like to visit? It’s a fun way to initiate conversation and always results in a few laughs! Residents also took part in armchair travel to Paris.
A provincial treasure
Resident Paul Duplessis has been painting for decades
ProTem resident Paul Duplessis is an accomplished artist who has been painting for decades.
Born in Bouctouche in 1959, Paul grew up inspired by the landscape around him. He later translated that passion and eye for detail into oil paintings Over the course of his artistic career he won numerous awards and had his work shown in galleries throughout New Brunswick In 2010 his work was featured in that years ’ Best of Worldwide Oil Artists
In addition to his 2010 accolade, Paul has been enjoyed succeses, including:

Marcial is a great team member, always willing to help where and when he’s needed We are fortunate to have him as part of our ProTem team
Marcial started working as a PSW at ProTem in February 2023 Prior to joining our team, he worked in pharmaceutical research at Hamilton Health Sciences in Ontario.
For him, the most rewarding part of his day is the positive impact his work has on the lives of residents
“I am not just completing tasks everyday at work but I am building trust, forming meaningful relationships and contributing to the well-being of my residents and their families.”
When he’s not at work, Marcial enjoys fellowshipping with friends from his church
