Andrews Senior Care is proud to announce “The Andrews Rockstars” surpassed our fundraising goal and raised $5,105 for the Alzheimer’s Society of PE I The total, including Andrews matched donation, will be delivered to the Alzheimer’s Society this week
The walk, held May 31st in Charlottetown, is the Alzheimer’s Society’s largest fundraising event of the year
Andrews Senior Care raised money throughout the month of May with all our homes hosting in-house walks, 50/50 draws and other fundraising events Andrews matched dollar for dollar all funds raised by our teams
“It’s a very important fundraising event for all of us at Andrews,” said Mizan Uddin, Group GM.“Alzheimer’s and dementia impact all of us in some way, either through loved ones who’ve been diagnosed, coworkers who have faced a diagnosis or interacting with our residents who are living with a diagnosis. The work the Alzheimer’s Society does is extremely important and we are proud to support their ongoing efforts to help those most impacted by Alzheimer’s.”
Likewise, ProTem Memory Care, our dementia care homes in Moncton, N.B., were again a top corporate sponsor of the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s in Moncton. In addition, ProTem’s walk team “The ProTem Memory Keepers,” raised money through a combination of an in-house walk event and taking part in the walk on May 31 . st

Residents at Andrews of Charlottetown were inspired by the beautiful spring weather we ’ ve been having and painted some tulips onto vases Each resident got to use their creativity to decorate the vases It was a fun afternoon activity!

Andrews of Summerside hosted the annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner for our Summerside-area volunteers this past month It was an amazing evening featuring a meal of bacon wrapped asparagus, stuffed chicken breast in marinara and garlic rice The very talented Steve Zaat provided entertainment

After five years, activity coordinator Annelize Malan is moving on.
Annelize and her husband Shawn are moving to Ontario to start a new chapter in their lives
Annelize will be dearly missed by all of us at Andrews of Summerside Over the past few years she has made a significant impact on the lives of our residents and with her team members Her creativity, passion and organization have been invaluable.

In celebration of Father’s Day, we asked our resident dads what they enjoyed/found most rewarding about raising children.
I enjoyed our boys growing up and getting into a number of sports They did well in school and both grew up to be great men. They’ve been a blessing to my wife and I. Truly great guys.

They’d come along with us when we were campers. We brought them with us on our big trips out west and they liked that They enjoyed the hiking. We did a lot of that with the kids.
