Barb is a dedicated team member, always going the extra mile to keep our residents happy and engaged She’s always willing to help when needed and is amazing at organization events at Andrews of Parkhill We are fortunate to have her as part of the Parkhill family Barb began working as program coordinator at Parkhill in 2013 Prior to joining, she worked as a server and assistant manager of the Zeller’s diner

Her career at Parkhill was only supposed to be short term

“I came for two, stayed for 10,” she said “This place, I can’t explain it I don’t say ‘I come to work,’ I get to come here every day It’s not a job It’s so rewarding

I can get a smile, if I can make one person smile, it makes my day ”

When she’s not at work, Barb enjoys gardening, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her husband

Our Above and Beyond winner for May is Amalu

Amalu is a dedicated team member, always willing to go the extra mile for our residents and her coworkers She’s pleasant, kind, professional and just a delight to work with We are fortunate to have her at Andrews of Summerside

Amalu started working as an RCW at Andrews in 2021. Prior to joining, she works for three years as an RN in her homecountry of India

For her, the best part of her day is spending time with the residents

“They are really sweet,” she said “They’re very welcoming. Andrews is a really nice place to work ”

In her spare time, Amalu enjoys going for walks and reading She’s currently reading “A Woman of Substance” by Barbara

Taylor Bradford

Our Above and Beyond winner for May is Cheryl Chaisson.

Cheryl is a hard-working, dedicated team member We are fortunate to have her at Andrews of Charlottetown.

Cheryl started working as a housekeeper at Andrews in September, 2022 Prior to joining, she worked in a similar role at another senior care home in the province

While she’s always busy keeping our home as tidy as possible, she finds time to chat with the residents

“I enjoy talking with seniors,” she said. “They have a lot to offer ” She added, she’s always been to senior care and finds the work rewarding winner for May is Marina Patey.

“I get to see the seniors every day,” she said Outside of work, Cheryl keeps busy spending time with her three grandkids, aged seven, five and two.

Marina is an excellent team member, providing great care to our residents and sparking joy around everyone she works with.

Marina started working as an LPN at Andrews of Stratford in July 2022

Prior to joining our team, she worked in a similar role at a hospice in Ontario To date, she has 11 years of nursing experience

Like many of our care staff, Marina has developed a special bond with the residents.

“They’re like an extension of my family,” she said “I worry about them when I’m not here That’s how I feel.”

In her spare time, Marina enjoys visiting P E I ’ s beaches Her favourite is Greenwich needed He s organized, professional and, most importantly, a pleasure to work with Anurag started working in administrative support at Andrews of Park West two month ago. Prior to joining us, he worked as a technician at Best Buy He is a graduate of St Lawrence College’s business administration program

While he’s only been in the role a short time, he’s enjoying being a part of the Andrews family “The best part of my day is my team members,” he said

Outside of work, Anurag enjoys spending time with his family, going for walks and dining out His favourite restaurant is Taste of India
