Hours/spaces are limited due to military members’ usage and public health restrictions. Walk-ins will be allowed if there are any spots available (Max capacity: 49 persons). * If you are two weeks beyond your final vaccine dose, you are no longer required to wear a mask at the fitness center. * If you are NOT two weeks beyond your final vaccine dose, masks are required at all times, except when actively working out on equipment or lifting weights. *Minimum 6-ft social distancing required at all times. *Please wipe down equipment before and after each use. *Limit of two sign-ups per day, per individual. *Shower and saunas are closed. *Indoor Track not in use. *Please bring water as our water fountains are also closed. *The TRX boxes are currently open 24/7, without sign-up restrictions.​

If you are a civilian, when you sign in, look for a class to sign up for and please make sure to click the class categorized “Civilians”, and you will be able to schedule your session. You will be required to show your ID upon check-in at the front desk.

What is F SS? Outdoor Recreation Facility Highlight We are Outdoor Recreation. Home of your equipment rentals, Family Campground, RV Storage and Freedom Park.

If you want to soar high in the sky, bike ride through historical D.C., Kayak along the Potomac or maybe learn a new skill, we have it all. “Best Birthday EVER!” is what your kids will say when you rent one of our bounce houses. Don’t forget the tables and chairs! Just in case it rains, we have you covered with one of our many canopies. Grass a little too high? No worries, we have all of your lawn care needs, from lawn mowers to pole saws. Spring, summer, fall, or winter, we have it ALL. On a sunny day, you can enjoy a picnic, fishing, or relax in the shade at Freedom Park.

Have an RV or a tent? Spend a little time at our FamCamp. Don’t have a tent? Don’t worry, Outdoor Recreation can provide all your camping needs and so much more. If you are Active duty, reserve, retired, or DoD civilian, we are here to enhance your life with fun, recreation, relaxation, and ADVENTURES.

19 June 2021 East Course 8:00am 301-736-4887 x300 18-hole Individual Net Stroke Play on the East Course. Combined with the gross score from Saturday’s round of one of the players in the US Open. Each player draws a name of the professional prior to tee-off.

US Kids Golf Camp

21-25 June 2021 Golf Course Driving Range 9:00am-12:00pm 301-736-4887 x300 Children will learn about improving swing mechanics, putting, chipping, pitching and bunker shots, etiquette, basic rules and different formats. The last day will consist of Golf Games, skills challenge, and a putting tournament followed by a snag golf baseball game!

Rock Climbing Anchor Clinic At Outdoor Recreation: 1235 Menoher Dr. Suitland, MD 20762 Date: 6/22 @ 6:00pm $5/person Age: 10+ Introductory rock climbing anchor clinic. This class will teach basic skills and knots needed to go rock climbing on your own. Two hours long.

Hiking the Perimeter Trail at Rosaryville State Park; Flora & Fauna + ‘Leave No Trace’ Tour At Rosaryville State Park: 7805 W Marlton Ave. Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 Dates: 6/19, 7/17 @ 9:00am $5/person GET OUT INTO THE FOREST! This trail is long but mostly flat and should take approximately 3-5 hours to complete based on ability. This is a good opportunity to meet new friends who love the woods as much as you do! Local guide books will be handed out to help hikers identify the local flora and fauna in addition to a lesson on ‘Leave No Trace’ (responsible backcountry procedures.)

Outdoor Climbing with Blue Ridge Mountain Guides Meet at 9194 Old Dominion Dr. McLean, VA 22101 Date: 6/26 @ 9:30am Non-RecOn=$65.00, RecOn=$15.00 Sign up ASAP through 6/18 Age: 10+ A half-day of climbing with Blue Ridge Mountain Guides professional instructors! The day will include a brief overview of safety, knots, belay school, followed by climbing! Break past your comfort zone and scale your way into the world of climbing!

Kayaking at JBAB At JBAB Marina Dates: 6/12, 7/10, 8/14, 9/11 @ 9:00am $25/person Sign up ASAP; Two days before.

Age: 10+ Outdoor Recreation will be offering monthly Kayak Fundamentals and Skill Clinics starting in June. We will be meeting at JBAB to get outfitted with gear and cover safety considerations before launching.

Two hours on the water and an hour instructional clinic prior to launching. Participants will learn basic kayak skills and concepts. Please bring a lunch and feel free to bring personal equipment.
