When it comes to personal injury attorneys, most people might believe that they are all the same. While they may all do the same type of work regarding the representation of the clients they serve, each law firm comes with their own unique experiences and philosophies.
Attorney Russo V. Russo’s practice focuses on personal injury, something he has been doing for over thirty years now.
Robert V. Russo Law Offices, in Providence, is a practice that focuses on representing anyone who has experienced personal injury. Russo believes that what sets him apart from other personal injury attorneys is that he is involved in every case his firm represents. His staff may think he’s crazy, but he handles all aspects of his cases himself, including his own arbitrations, his own statements, and even if he is away from the office, no matter where he is, he sees every intake. It’s a professional commitment he has for the work that he does, and it shows how fully invested he is, personally, in every case.
When you hear his office promote ‘personal service for personal injuries,’ they mean just that. The size of the firm is big enough to handle any case, but not too big, so his clients still get that intimate office feel, along with individual attention.
Russo graduated from Bryant University and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree in Maryland, at the University of Baltimore. He was originally employed at Coia & Lepore, Ltd. in Providence, where he handled many personal injury cases. In 1997, after seven years at that firm, he went off on his own and established Robert V. Russo Law Offices, where he continues his practice with a primary focus on personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, slip and falls, and work-related injuries.

Because of his many years of service in and around the greater Providence area, Russo’s ties to the community run deep. He has been a member of the Johnston Town Council since 1995, serving as president of the town council for the past 17 years. His political activities have provided him opportunities to help the town come to agreement on issues ranging from zoning matters to school concerns and tax treaties. His experience being a part of local government is something he sees as being helpful and useful in his work as an attorney, where resolving conflicts between two parties who perceive the same situation in completely different ways is always part and parcel of what he does on a day-to-day basis.
Attorney Russo is not afraid of challenge, which should be an essential quality in any attorney. You might think that a lawyer who handles primarily personal injury cases wouldn’t participate in potentially risky sports and recreational activities, like snowmobiling and jet skiing, but you would be wrong. Russo believes that you need to be mentally, physically, and emotionally tough to be successful, which is why he stays active and fit, challenging himself by participating in physical endurance events such as triathlons and road races, whenever he can. There’s a tenacity there that translates to client confidence because they know Russo will fight for them.
Robert V. Russo Law Offices employs an associate attorney and a large office staff of ten, who Russo gives a lot of credit to for its overall success, not just for the practice, but for the clients they regularly serve.

“My core staff has been with me since the beginning,” Russo said, adding, “ I’ve been so fortunate to have them. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.”
Russo is happy and satisfied with the way things are going and how he is able to continue to serve the public after so many years.
“I’m here for the duration,” he said. “I love it. If the day ever comes that I don’t feel the same way helping people in the capacity I do, we’ll go from there.”
While he has no current plans for expansion or growth, there is always a possibility that the firm could become a family business sometime down the road.
Russo is a member of the Rhode Island Association of Justice, Justinian Law Society, Rhode Island Bar Association, and has been admitted to the Federal District Court for the District of Rhode Island and the United States Supreme Court.
