LOCATION: ZAKINTHOS ISLAND – GREECE
South – west of the GREECE

Zakynthos lies in the eastern part of the Ionian sea, around 20 kilometres (12 miles) west of the Greek (Peloponnese) mainland. The island of Kefalonia lies 15 kilometres (9 miles) to the north. It is the southernmost of the main group of the Ionian islands..

LAGANA area is situated on the Golf of Lagana. Is benefiting of sun and sea but also the soil is rich in stones and the natural resources we need for building our HOUSE PROJECT

MATERIALS : STONE , LIME CEMENT, AND WOOD

STONE 75%: our prime material Stone Construction

Stone Construction Stone has been used as a building material for thousands of years. It has long been recognised as a material of great durability and superior artistic quality, the foremost choice for buildings associated with status, power and religion. The pyramids in Giza, burial chambers in the UK and temples in Malta were all built from stone over 4000 years ago and are still standing. The use of stone in construction has declined over the last hundred years, but it remains an aristocrat of building materials. We will have access on extracting our material from the land we are building the construction: NO TRANSPORT, NO CARBON AND SAVING MONEY
LIME CEMENT 20% : locally produce on an aggregate mine, Zakynthos island, Greece: NO TRANSPORT , NO CARBON

WOOD 10%: main land all the material inventory will be supervised and managed by the local company.

How long does a stone house wall last?
According to our LCA assessment our construction during will have a lifespan of 100 years

You can expect natural stone house walls or siding to last for the life of the home, 100 years or more, which is longer than manufactured stone at 50+ years. Natural stone can be recyclable after and used in any other construction. No waste no Carbon no toxicity.

The HOUSE it will be nice and cold during the summers, because of the stone structure .
During the winters in Zakynthos the climate is not below 0… the house it will be heated by the passive solar system that will provide a good amount of energy and it will run together with a flooring system .In case of very low temperature it will be back up by the boiler or immersion heater, especially during the winter very cold months (rarely)
For the energy sustainable system , we will adapt a passive energy heating and lighting provided be our SOLAR TILES ROOF STRUCTURE, a large invest but very well received on the return profit.

The HOUSE it will benefit also of two very important undergrounded water deposit but also a water collector deposit. This will supply the necessities of the house, by using the rain water collected. During the hot summers people on Greece need lot of clean water and sometimes this can be a problem. With this solution everyone will have plenty of water and enough the full year around, without paying for any supplier.

By implementing also the benefits of Composting the owner will have the following:
