Botanical Greenhouse and Towerhouse

Location: Timișoara, România

Function: Housing and public GreenHouse

It would seem like an amalgam of objects and indeed, this produced an amalgam of thoughts of a young architect student. In the desire to experiment with the two extremes, skeletal - massive, this project captures a thinking and learning process of these two structural systems, intertwined with architectural expression. Thus, the skeleton opens to the sky, while the massif is grounded.

The C.A.S.A for activists

Location: Petroșani, România

Function: CoHousing and Coworking

An existing, historical building is intervened with a new, atypical object that wants to become a signal for what the future brings. The residents have as their objective the reactivation of the area, thus, the solution is based on a visionary living, where the standard living rules change once with the new life.

Old town Strategy

The shape of the quarter, transitioning from rectangular to organic, along with the presence of the Maleia stream, gives the colony a dual character. Thus, a contrast emerges between the urban and the natural, further amplified by the historical nature of the site, in opposition to contemporary living. The colony will be minimally landscaped to attract as much attention from the residents as possible. As we move closer to the stream, the space becomes more organic, more natural. The area becomes filled with trees, and the seating spaces become more relaxed. At the opposite end, toward the center, urban squares will be created to encourage the bustle of the population.

The

activist’s house

Their tower exists through contrast: the Ianza tower represents the connection to the past, while the Activists’ Tower symbolizes the link to the prosperous future they are preparing. The new tower does not deny the past, but rather creates a dialogue with it. Built from a lightweight material, polycarbonate, it becomes the perfect solution for temporary residences, offering a flexible and easily modifiable space. Additionally, the tower hosts, on its top two levels and through its footprint at ground level, shared spaces for socializing and working. In this way, residents share their living space. Since the proposed solution is minimal and economical, all medium-term residents are accommodated in the existing house on the site. As a result, the spaces are small and compact, in keeping with the spirit of the activists, who do not prioritize comfort above all else.

42. Hidden Places

in collaboration with Elena Vremi

Location: Timișoara, Romania

Function: Student’s Dorm

What is cohabitation and how exactly is privacy defined? This project tries to define a new type of home where you can enjoy both the experience of living with your colleagues and the time spent in silence and contemplation that many of us miss. Thus, several types of spaces and their developments were studied, following both architectural and structural coherence.

Where is my place? The project comes as both a conceptual and a realistic answer to this question. The dorm, as we know it in Romania, is the place where not many find their place. Starting from this problem, we solved it by looking at the living rooms as a space where everyone finds their place. Thus, the differences in height, both inside the rooms and at the level of the entire building, offer the level of protection that each of us needs.

The materiality of the living modules is wood, a material that offers warmth and intimacy, while in contrast, the public ground floor is finished with exposed concrete. From the outside, the relationship between heavy-light and public-private can be observed, emphasized by the glass extending beyond the concrete structure.

Residential project for Saint Gobain

in collaboration with Georgea Ștefan

Location: Helsinki, Finland

Function: Residential

Dealing with a site and a very large-scale project, we tried to create efficient and easy housing modules that would reduce the overwhelm of such a large residential space. Also, the first experience of participating in an international competition led to a different approach regarding housing.

31. WORLDS

Location: Seville, Spain

Function: Residential

This design, is embracing the dynamic interplay between architecture and its surroundings. Its intervention seeks not merely to build, but to dissolve the intangible boundaries that delineate the territory. Thus the 31 housing modules are introduced in the dense urban context of the San Juan Bajo neighborhood. However, the arhitecture seems to be a field of experimetation, an idea that fuels the ambition to create a harmonious yet avant-garde urban intervention.

Other Works

Location: Worldwide

Function: phisical & digital models, architecture films, handicrafts

An essential component in the formation of a young architect is represented by related activities, which find their relevance in architectural practice by developing strategic, creative, and artistic thinking. From creating models and designing objects to capturing architecture in film, these experiences contribute to a deeper understanding of the field. Additionally, a particular curiosity for heritage and traditional manual craftsmanship techniques completes this journey, being considered essential elements in understanding the complexity of architectural work.
