THEME Choose a theme for the party (e.g. Teddy Bears picnic!). Match the birthday cake, party invitations, tableware, party decorations and party bags to your chosen theme.

VENUE

GARDEN • Consider the size and how many children it can accommodate comfortably and safely • Plan seating areas for parents • Decorate with bunting/balloons to give that party feel • Beware of British summer weather - have a back-up plan in case of rain (e.g. gazebo).

HIRE OF VENUE • Book at least 2 months in advance to secure your preferred date • Confirm timings, keys, set up and set down rules!

COVID SECURE Nobody likes this, but we need to be aware of the risks and act accordingly. • Follow government advice and stick to the rules • Encourage washing of hands and sanitise regularly • Ask party entertainers for their health and safety risk assessment. ENTERTAINER Booking an entertainer for the party is highly advisable. • Check out reviews, and word of mouth recommendations to ensure a professional service. • The entertainer will alleviate the stress of the party allowing you to relax and enjoy your child’s special day.

FOOD Due to the sheer excitement and distractions on the day, you will find that the children do not eat a lot during the party. Elaborate and fancy food, therefore is not really necessary as children are happy with sandwiches, crisps, fresh fruit & vegetable platters and some chocolate/sweet treats. But don’t forget the cake!
