19 February 2023 To Whom It May Concern: It is my sincere pleasure to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Andrea Gomes. I had Andrea as a student in my 5th year Graduate Studio in Architecture at Northeastern University in the spring of 2022. Andrea is intelligent, capable, reliable, and organized. Andrea and her teammate designed a unique project for an adaptable reuse site in downtown Boston. The students did thorough site research that led them to a design that was sensitive to the site, yet with a provocative, contemporary solution. Andrea was always prompt for studio and delivered her work on time with a professional demeanor for a student of her age. I believe Andrea will make a terrific addition any design studio or architectural firm. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions about this recommendation. Kind Regards,
Jay Siebenmorgen, AIA Design Principal 917.215.1666

TRANSCENDING CURVE S While working on an adaptive reuse project in this studio, the focus was on creating spaces that transform based on future needs and thus the design transitions present concepts of voids and arches through form, material, and overall structure in a way that creates a cohesive visual appearance while also creating a new spatial experience. This experience would be based on exposing the building to let in more daylight and designing passive strategies to enhance the micro-climate.

The focus was to densify FAR while filling the missing middle for the housing typologies that exist in Boston. The program created multi level living and sleeping spaces to retain the privacy of resting zones and maximize the area of the lot. This ensured all gathering activities were on different level from the individual activities that required privacy this thus promoted the wind stack effect and sunlight penetration in the apartments.

UNICORN Managed a team of five junior architects throughout the design development and construction documentation phase of this project. The project was designed to promote flexibility in workspaces and create an integrated solution that combines retail spaces with offices. While following the IGBC standards and obtaining IGBC Gold certification for this project , the challenge was to optimize the horizontal and vertical space through planning & spatial development. My role in this project was to develop spatial planning layouts that adhere to building code and ensure structural stability while designing the facade.

(RAMGARH crater) ASTRO - TOURIST VISITOR COMPLEX Ramgarh crater, 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) in diameter, is a meteor crater located near Ramgarh village, in Rajasthan, India. The aim was to target the cosmic landscape of a destination and combine it with earth facilities to re-establish the relationship between mankind, earth and the celestial sphere. Thus the design is divided into three phases 1. Learning 2. Interaction 3. Reconnection. Through this division the visitors are able to reconnect by using architecture as a medium.
