Experiencing Virtual Exhibition: YAD in AMC

This week, ARSARI Djojohadikusumo Foundation (YAD) represented the Republic of Indonesia in the 4th Asia Ministerial Conference (AMC) on Tiger Conservation which was held on the virtual platform the https://www. virtualive.my/amc2022/. Together with PR-HSD ARSARI and PKR-ARSARI, conservation activists from YAD shared their experiences of rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing Sumatran Tigers in one of the Side Events, as well as manning booths in a virtual exhibition.

The Side Event was held on 20 January 2022 on 16.00 WIB, under the theme Tiger Recovery and Active Management. YAD was represented by its Executive Director, Dr. Catrini Kubontubuh, who moderated an intensive discussion spearheaded by Dr. David Magitan from Department of Wildlife and National Parks, Malaysia, bringing forward “The roles of natural wildlife rescue center in Malaysian tiger conservation”; Dr. Suwanna Gauntlett from Wildlife Alliance -Kamboja discussing about “Tiger reintroduction project in Cardamom Rainforest Landscape, Cambodia”; Dr. Thomas Gray from WWF Greater Mekong with “Restoring Asia’s Roar”; and Dr. Gregory Mazmaniants from WWF Central Asia, Kazakhstan, elaborating “Return to Kazakhstan”. This event was aired live through virtualive platform, as well as Facebook account Jabatan

The virtual event went smoothly and without hitch, with the speakers providing their own unique perspectives and experiences in rescuing and managing tiger conservation efforts from various parts of the globe. At the end of the event, moderator Dr. Catrini also introduced the rescue, rehabilitation and release efforts carried out in Indonesia by showing a video from PRHSD ARSARI.
