First things first what is your budget you can get a wig from as cheap as 1500/= and some can go all the way up to 100,000/= yes or even more. Synthetic wigs which are my least favourite are the cheapest. Keep in mind the cheaper the wig the lesser the quality, well in most cases. Synthetic wigs often than not look cheap and tacky and truth be told they don’t last long. They cannot be washed or heated so it really limits you. However if you are on a low budget they can come through but I would not recommend them.

Then we have the semi human, I have mixed feelings about these ones. If you are lucky , you can get a really good unit. Most of them have good finishing, some have lace fronts and closures making it look similar to human hair wigs. Semi human wigs, well most of them can be washed and blow dried or flat ironed which makes them easy to slay. The catch though is that , they will not last you long but are good if you are starting out with wigs and if taken care of well can give you decent service .

This one I find interesting they are called human hair blend. Well if you are not good at assessing the quality of a wig well you probably have been duped into thinking your human hair wig was the real human hair. This is a mixture of human hair and semi human hair to create a blend. To be honest I don’t get the point of this hybrid creation. With that said I have nothing further to say about this and nothing nice to say either , I mean it doesn’t make sense but hey ! Now to the crème del a crème, human hair. Ladies this is worth your coins.

In fact I would rather instead of buying numerous semi human wigs you save and buy yourself a human hair wig. The price varies depending on length, the longer it is the more costly it is, if it is dyed it will cost more. It also depends on if it is a closure or lace front. These days we even have headband wigs, your options are limitless with human hair wigs they are easy to maintain and if installed well they look great, you will definitely look cute. This is an investment and I highly recommend.

Lastly we have virgin human hair, to be honest I do not know much about this. I am not sure if it is just a selling strategy to make us pay more for our wigs because human hair is just human hair. The word virgin doesn’t add any hairness to the hair if I can use such a word lol. I will let the hair experts expound on this one but if it is real then this must be the epitome of wigs.

The key to having your wig give you service is maintenance, wash it so that your hair doesn’t smell like something rotten or even have lice. There are so many products in the market today that can help you prevent your wig from fizzing and looking like a pile of sisal rope. There are also numerous tutorials on wig installations to make sure they look great and enable you do it on your own. Personally I prefer taking it to the salon, of course I trust my hair dresser and I let her deal with it. My parting shot would be, we all need a wig or ten (wink) just because and boy aren’t we grateful to the inventors of wigs.
