Message from the Director
It’s hard to believe, but summer is upon us once again! The hot days and long nights provide plenty of time to read by the pool, read by the beach, or to read in a nice, airconditionedroom.
This year our summer reading theme is dinosaurs! I have to say I was super excited to get a t-shirt that combines reading and dinosaurs. We’ve been able to expand on that theme and bring you thisfunsummerreadingguidethat’snot only informative, but also contains activitieswehopeyourkidswilllove!
The summer reading program offered by the library is a great way to keep your kids and yourself involved in reading and literacy learning while school is out of session. Weekly programs keep you coming to the library and are really designed to make sure you have an opportunity to check out books. Don’t forget to use Libby and Hoopla, as any reading of eBooks and listening of audiobooks also counts — in fact it’s a greatwaytomixitup!Familyroadtrips= familyaudiobooklisteningtime! STOP STOP SUMMER SUMMER
DE E the the
This summer, the library invites families to Unearth a Story, where reading, play, and discovery come together to help prevent the “summer slide.”
Best of all, summer learning doesn’t feel like schoolwork. Kids choose what excites them, learn through doing, and have fun along the way - setting them up to return to school curious, confident, and ready to learn. S SL LI I
Through books, hands-on activities, and live performances, kids explore new ideas, build reading confidence, and strengthen skills they’ll use all year long. Whether they’re digging into a favorite series, uncovering a new interest, or participating in a program, every experience helps keep young minds engaged.
