Inscapes Amy’s paintings are an exploration of emotion, memory, feeling and observation underpinned by a fasciation with mans relationship to nature and the juxtaposition of nature and modernity. This exhibition comprises of a collection of existing and new works that look at childhood memory of nature and how this has shaped the artists views and morality. The work also looks at human consciousness measured against natures might and its fragility. Amy was born in Dumfries, Scotland in 1983. She graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art in 2005 with a BA (Hons) fine art degree. Since then she has been exhibiting extensively throughout Scotland. In 2014 Amy was awarded the Hope Scott Trust Award and the Visual Artists Award (in partnership with Creative Scotland and South of Scotland Councils) to significantly develop her work for her large solo show, “Interconnections” at the Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries in 2015. Her work has also been short listed for the JD Fergusson Award. Amy is currently based in Crossmichael, Dumfries & Galloway.
