Alan Chapman Anomalies, 2016 Alan is originally from the North East of England and now lives and works in Edinburgh.

He attended Sunderland College of Art, where he first started exploring acrylic painting techniques, creating large scale sheets of pure colour. Alan joined Edinburgh Printmakers’ Workshop on moving to Edinburgh and for a number of years he focussed on making etchings and collagraphs. Moving studios in Edinburgh provided the impetus to develop paintings inspired by printmaking techniques.

Anomalies is a series of paintings, which he began in 2014, exploring disparate forms coming together and drifting apart.
