Quad-Lock® Sterilization Container

How to Choose the Right Quad-Lock® Container

1. Locate the instruments that will go inside the container and determine, based on the number, size and weight of instruments, what size basket is needed to hold these instruments.

NOTE: No instruments should sit above the inner edge of the basket.

2. Determine whether a Solid Bottom Container Base or Filter Bottom Container Base is appropriate based on the sterilization systems in use at your facility.

NOTE: To determine the height of the container base, add the height of the basket, plus 1 inch (25 mm) for the Wire Base (if used), plus 2 inches (50 mm) of clearance.

A wire base must be used with a Filter Bottom Container Base.

Filter Bottom Container Base Example: 2 inch (50 mm) Basket + 1 inch (25 mm) Wire Base + 2 inches (50 mm) clearance = 5 inches (127 mm).

Solid Bottom Container Base Example: 2 inch (50 mm) Basket + 2 inches (50 mm) clearance = 4 inches (101 mm).

7. Consider Ergonomic Hand Grips in the color you prefer for each instrument set. Ergonomic Hand Grips are available in Gray, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red and Black.

3. Select a Wire Base the same length as the basket when using a Filter Base.

4. Consider a Protective Mat the same length as your basket, or upgrade to Accessory Instrument Organizers appropriate for your specific instrument set.

5. Add a Filter Lid in the color you prefer for each instrument set. Filter Lids are available in Gray, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red and Black.

6. Consider a Security Lid in the color you prefer for each instrument set. Security Lids are available in Gray, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red and Black.

8. Consider Aluminum Nameplates in the color you prefer for each instrument set. Aluminum Nameplates are available in Gray, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red and Black. Make note of what should be etched on each Aluminum Nameplate, up to a 45 character limit.

The TransPak was engineered to protect personnel from the hazards of contaminated instruments after surgical use. This strong, lightweight plastic soaking system is designed for minimized spillage and splashing, helping to protect hands and eyes from possible infection during transport to cleaning facilities. The TransPak meets AORN and ANSI/AAMI standards for proper transport of contaminated surgical instruments.

The removable insert tray permits the safe transfer of contaminated instruments with no hand contact; the TransPak itself can be transferred directly to a washer/decontaminator.
