Footprint: Four of our Silo City silos utilize the same area as one pneumatic ‘pig/guppies’, which equates to four times the storage volume in the same area. Twelve of our Silo City silos possess the same storage capacity and footprint of three pigs.

Remote-Controlled Boom Operated Auger System: Silo City silos incorporate the use of an electronically controlled auger system capable of discharging at a rate of 25 tons in 12 minutes.

Energy Savings: Lower use of electrical power Setup: Silos are standing and ready from our trailers in approximately 10 minutes without the need for cranes. We designed an engineered steel base that doesn’t require extensive sub-grade preparations and only needs to be level and capable of sustaining 18 psi.

Labor: Operating a pig at an efficient capacity requires significant labor. Care must be taken to balance the line discharge pressure with the volume of product entering the discharge line. This requires constant attention, or the receiving silo will run out of product. Gen 3 silos only require you to turn on the auger and let it work for you.

Fugitive Dust: After a pig is empty, you are left with approximately 5,000 cu/ft of air containing cement dust particles, which can either be released into the air or discharged into a receiving silo.

This places an undue burden and wear on receiving silo dust collector system.

Efficiency: Unlike a pig that can take approximately 45 minutes to fill 25 tons, our silos cut the time in half. The reason is that a pig has only one fill line and can only be filled or discharged at once. Silo City Silos can be filled with two trucks simultaneously while discharging.

Ventilation: Silo top dust collector systems are included on each silo and are capable of filtering the charging air of 4 trucks at once with a 99.9% efficiency.

Product level: Silo City silos are equipped with high/low bin indicators with lights and alarms, reducing the chance of overfilling or running empty. There is no more beating the pigs with a hammer to guess material levels. Silo City silos give you the easiest way to monitor levels.
