Since the last collection being published, it has been very busy for Ancasta Group. We have continued to see a very healthy demand for the wide range of new boats we offer, high demand for our brokerage services around the world and the demand for Ancasta Yacht Services continues to expand at a rapid rate.

Overall Ancasta Group has continued to thrive and grow in the post pandemic environment. New boat sales have been strong and despite long delivery times and other external pressures it does appear that demand is still robust. In particular, the multihull sector is seeing significant growth, and new powerboat catamarans from Prestige and Bluegame, along with our ever developing Lagoon range continue to attract a lot of interest. We are looking forward to the launch of the first McConaghy 75 in the coming months amongst

other exciting new launches. As multihull specialists, Ancasta is well placed to support multihull owners throughout their ownership. Whether you're buying your first catamaran or looking to upgrade to a newer model, we're here to help.

These last six months have seen the first full boat show season post covid. Within those shows we have seen an extraordinary level of new model launches. As always, we were delighted to see so many of you join us at the boat shows this summer. The pontoons at Cannes, Southampton, and Genoa were buzzing. The enthusiasm for boating from both established boat owners and those new to the lifestyle continues.

Boot Düsseldorf is, of course, fast approaching. And after a long hiatus, we are really looking forward to this magnificent indoor boat show returning. We'll present a vast range of models, including the spectacular Sanlorenzo SD90, the new Prestige M48, and Beneteau’s award-winning models, the Grand Trawler 62 and First 36. If you are looking for a quick interruption to your winter blues then a quick trip to Boot Düsseldorf is a great tonic.

The world of yacht racing is more exciting than ever as we see the phenomenal AC40 come to market. A scaled-down version of the AC75, the AC40 is now available to buy from Ancasta Race Boats, giving private owners

access to the latest America's Cup technology and performance for the first time in sailing history. The AC40 is a quantum leap in yacht racing and it's great for McConaghy and Ancasta to be playing such a key role in this brave new world.

The new Ancasta Yacht Services sheds are very busy as the winter work schedule fills up. As a onestop shop for engineering, repairs, refits, upgrades, and seasonal maintenance, many of you love the convenience of having all your boating needs looked after by just one point of contact. If you want work carried out on your boat over the winter, we would be delighted to have the opportunity to discuss what can be done.

Cannes Yachting Festival 2022

Renowned for its luxurious and elegant location in the beautiful bay of Cannes, the 45th edition of this world-famous in-water boating event took place in September 2022. Leading sail and powerboat brands showcased a fantastic selection of over 600 models, including 135 world debuts.

Ancasta was proud to present many new sailboats and motor yachts at the show. Lagoon Catamarans wowed the crowds with their stylish designs and popular onboard living layouts, including the fabulous new Lagoon 51.

Prestige motor yachts showed off a fantastic range of motorboats. The voluminous living spaces of the new Prestige X60 impressed buyers. And the first of Prestige's multihull models, the M48, turned heads with its expansive cockpit and 360-degree saloon views.

Beneteau's lineup of powerboats included the award-winning Grand Trawler 62, sporty Gran Turismo models, and classically styled Swift Trawlers. World premieres for the New Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 60 and Beneteau First 44 also drew in the crowds.

A show debut for Bluegame's BG54 sat alongside four other models, all with innovative layouts and high-performance hulls. While Sanlorenzo celebrated two world launches for the SD90 and SP110 and presented a lineup of ten head-turning luxury superyachts.

Southampton Boat Show 2022

The UK's largest on-water exhibition, the Southampton Boat Show, returned to Mayflower Park in September 2022. Showcasing over 650 boats, including many UK and global debuts, the show welcomed over 83,000 visitors.

It was a buzzing atmosphere on the pontoons, and Ancasta was delighted to welcome a large number of serious buyers to look around a fantastic collection of sail and motor yachts. Many orders were also placed at the show.

On the Beneteau stand, visitors were invited to view a variety of Oceanis yachts ranging from 30-51ft. The Swift Trawler 48 was the largest Beneteau powerboat on display, attracting buyers looking for a comfortable family vessel with long-distance sailing capabilities and excellent seaworthiness.

Visitors were impressed by the family-friendly Lagoon 46 catamaran with outstanding onboard living qualities. While the collection of Prestige flybridge motor yachts showed off their light and airy interiors and impressive power.

New to the show, two RIBs from Protector Boats, the 330 Chase and 380 Targa, impressed passers-by with their robust hulls and 'tough luxury' cabin interiors. And Bluegame's BGX60, the first in the UK, turned heads with its Italian flare and sophistication.

Sailing Centre: Halls 15, & 16

Boot Düsseldorf has two halls dedicated to sailing-related exhibitors. Whether you are looking for your next sailing yacht, dinghy or would like to book a sailing holiday, you’ll find everything you need here. An array of sailing manufacturers will be on display, and sailing holiday companies will be on hand to help you find the perfect vacation for you and your family. There will also be a busy schedule of speakers on the Sailing Centre Stage including Vendée Globe participant Pip Hare. And if you’re completely new to sailing, Kids can even give dinghy sailing a go in the special indoor pool.

Powerboat World: Halls 1, 3, 4, 5

Four halls will house the show’s Motor Boats. From large motor yachts to small sports boats, pleasure craft, RIBs, and wakeboard towboats, there is something to suit everybody’s needs and wishes. Browse superyacht tenders from the world’s largest superyacht designers. And boatbuilders will be on hand to talk about their latest models. Sit in the cockpit of a racing powerboat, and discover the thrill of driving a power boat with the motorboat virtual reality simulator.

Surf Sports: Hall 17

Boot Düsseldorf is about much more than just boats. Head to Hall 17 to find a hub of surf watersports, including kitesurfing, wingfoiling, windsurfing, wakeboarding, surfing and stand up paddle boarding. A Day Is Not Enough

This show is so big that it is difficult to cover everything in one day. Many visitors take a 2-3 day mini-break to explore the multitude of exhibitors on display and to explore Düsseldorf itself. There is plenty to see and do in the city, from fine cuisine and boutique shopping to fascinating architecture and relaxing bars on the banks of the River Rhine.

Beneteau First 44

The new Beneteau First 44 is the natural link between the First 36 and the First 53. Combining performance, elegance and comfort, this unique yacht offers a balanced blend of racer and cruiser qualities. Designers Roberto Biscontini and Lorenzo Argento have created first-class refinement in this new 60-footer ocean-cruising yacht. Beneteau Grand Trawler 62

The Grand Trawler 62 is a well-deserving winner of the European Power Boat of the Year Award 2022. The distinctive displacement hull, developed by MICAD, improves cruising range and efficiency and allows owners to cast off on long-distance cruises. The large flybridge affords excellent visibility from the helm when underway and fantastic views when at anchor, while the aft cockpit is a welcoming space for alfresco dining. Inside, spaces are generously sized with volumes similar to much bigger yachts and enough space to house a crew comfortably. The Swift Trawler 48 is an evolution of the Swift Trawler 47. It features a new interior layout with the helm station positioned on the starboard side alongside the exterior saloon door for easy access and improved visibility. The new entry-level model of Sanlorenzo's renewed semidisplacement range, the SD90, is the third chapter in a success story that started with the SD96 and SD118. CNB 78

Renowned yacht designer and naval architect Phillipe Briand has modernised the CNB heritage with this latest model, the CNB 78. Built by the new owners of Solaris Yachts with the exacting process and tolerances of CNB's world-class standards, this luxurious vessel has been configured for owners looking for an elegant yet powerful offshore sailing yacht for extended cruising.

The awards, organised by Sailing Today with Yachts and Yachting magazine, shine a spotlight on the very best in the marine industry with a public vote deciding the worthy winners. Trophies for these two well-deserving boats were presented and celebrated at a ceremony at the Royal Thames Yacht Club in November.

Best Sales Progression in 2022

On the first day of the Cannes Yachting Festival, Ancasta celebrated winning Bluegame‘s dealer award for Best Sales Progression in 2022. As the UK’s sole Bluegame dealer, we were delighted to accept this prestigious accolade that recognises the team’s success in introducing the revolutionary Bluegame range to the UK market.

“My whole future was ahead of me and then I got diagnosed, it felt like my world came crashing down. I’m two years in remission now and I still feel like I’m trying to climb a mountain to get back to whatever kind of normal was.”

Chrissy, now 25, was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma - an aggressive bone cancer - in her shoulder in 2019. She was just two weeks from graduating from university and spent the first COVID lockdown undergoing treatment in Bristol. Her entire shoulder blade was removed.

This summer, Chrissy was one of 519 young people aged 8-24 supported by the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.

Sailing was not something she had ever imagined herself doing, especially since her surgery. But sailing for four days with the Trust in July gave her a great sense of achievement and feeling of optimism about what lies ahead.

Chrissy continues: “It was quite an aggressive tumour, the size of a grapefruit, and it started breaking the surrounding bones, so I was left with just one shoulder."

"Going sailing was quite surreal. I didn't think I'd ever be able to do anything like it. I'd opted out of quite a few things since having one working arm. But the Trust said you can get involved as much or as little as you want, and they help you all the way if you need that extra hand."

"I felt quite proud of myself that I managed to do the ropes and even steer the boat with one arm. It really boosted my

confidence in my body. I know my limits because I've been able to push them with that support. I felt more optimistic about the future and that I can go and do anything.”

Back afloat

Founded by the history-making yachtswoman in 2003, the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust takes young people sailing and on outdoor adventures to inspire them to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer.

For many young people simply picking up where they left off before their diagnosis just isn’t possible. So, when treatment ends the Trust’s work begins.

The Trust gives young people the environment to have fun, push their boundaries, and stop feeling like ‘the only one’. They feel more accepted, independent, and optimistic and can start to rediscover their purpose and place in the world.

2022 was a magical year for the Trust. After the pandemic scuppered any sailing in 2020, the Trust ran a limited programme in 2021. 2022 was about getting back to normal while still living with COVID.

Altogether 36 sailing and outdoor adventure trips were run across the UK, with 266 young people sailing with the Trust for the first time from the charity’s two homes in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight and Largs on Scotland’s west coast.

In addition, 226 young people who had previously sailed with the Trust returned for new adventures.

One of these was Josh, who took part in June’s Round the Island Race. Josh first sailed with the Trust in 2018 after treatment for synovial sarcoma - a soft tissue tumour, which he was diagnosed with just before his 20th birthday.

This was his third sailing adventure and for the first time he got to sail alongside Dame Ellen MacArthur herself

Josh said:

“Being with the Trust made me realise how some limitations are now advantages. If I can sail, I can probably try this or do that, it really helps you to push your boundaries.”

Sailing towards 20 years

In 2023, the Trust celebrates its 20th anniversary. In that time 2,836 young people living through and beyond cancer have benefitted from sailing with the Trust.

The Trust also launches its Ambitions for 2023-25, with the aim to be accessible to all

young people who have a cancer diagnosis in the UK and have the biggest impact possible on every one of them.

"It was wonderful to support so many young people again. To see our bases on the island and in Largs buzzing with excitement for the whole summer was truly magical."

Explore the Catalan Coast

Stick to the mainland and head northeast to discover the rugged coastline of Costa Brava. With some of the best European beaches, little bays are dotted along the shore from Blanes, right up to the French border. The landscapes are breathtaking, and the cuisine is out of this world; many of Spain's Michelin-starred chefs are based here.

Begur

The municipality of Begur is popular for its beautiful beaches, excellent cuisine and rustic charm. The town itself is well known for its fine restaurants and boutique shops, and there are many charming streets and dainty alleyways to explore.

Sa Riera is a pretty fishing village close to the town of Begur. This secluded cove is set amongst pine-covered cliffs and boasts a beautiful sandy beach. The clear turquoise waters make it an excellent spot for swimming and snorkelling too. Onshore, a small selection of restaurants and cafes offer delicious Spanish cuisine and local wines. Although popular in the summer months, Sa Riera is relatively undeveloped and, has retained a historical charm and magical allure.

Cap de Creus

The magnificent Cap de Creus peninsula is located at the far northeast point of Catalonia, just 25km from the French border. Characterised by eroded cliffs and creeks of deep blue water, the scenery is stunning. The winds can be strong at times, but if you come here in fair weather, the secluded calas and spacious anchorages are divine.

Head to Cadaqués for a chic yet bohemian vibe. Whitewashed buildings line the hillside, and meandering cobbled streets lead to sweeping views of the bay. Explore craggy inlets by dinghy, or stay ashore to enjoy a glass of wine and traditional Spanish cuisine.

El Port de la Selva has plenty of pristine beaches and cultural attractions. Anchor off Cala Tamariu, a secluded bay of glistening crystal-clear turquoise water and a beautiful golden sandy beach with waterfront restaurants.

Escape to the Balearic Islands

Badalona is a great base for yachts wishing to explore the Balearic Islands of Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera. The waters are unbelievably clear, making it a great spot for swimming and snorkelling, and a pretty pebble beach emerges from a narrow opening in the rock face.

Cala Jondal Beach, Ibiza

Cala Jondal Beach is popular amongst the rich and famous for its upmarket facilities, but it also attracts young families and couples looking for some luxurious beach time fun. The bright turquoise waters are lined by a glistening pebble beach, and the lush pine tree forests and steep red cliffs create a spectacular setting.

Bahia de Fornells, Menorca

The Bay of Fornells is a large area of sheltered water accessed by a narrow entranceway to the north of Menorca. With calm waters, whatever the wind direction, Fornells is a great place to explore all year round, and there are lots of places to anchor or pick up mooring buoys. At 5 km long and 2 km wide, there is plenty to see and do, including lots of watersports such as kayaking, windsurfing, dinghy sailing and diving.

Playa Cavall d'en Borras, Formentera

Found on the northeast coast of Formentera, Playa Cavall d'en Borras is a gorgeous stretch of white sand, lined with dunes and pine trees. A bit quieter than larger beach resorts, head here for a spot of swimming in the shallow aquamarine waters and enjoy the relaxing beach bar vibes at a beach-side restaurant.

How to look after your rigging

Rig inspections are essential to maintaining your sailing yacht's overall safety and performance. Rig failures can be costly, dangerous to your crew and may cause damage to your boat and others. Still, by identifying weak spots and having the rig professionally repaired before it breaks, mast failure can usually be avoided. Most yacht insurance policies also require that your rigging is in a fit and seaworthy condition, so it's essential to ensure your mast and standing rigging are safe and secure at all times.

Split Pins and Rings

We recommend that a professional rigger checks all of your rigging periodically. But here are a few things you can check yourself every time you go sailing to help prevent problems. This list is by no means exhaustive, but it covers a few of the basics. Always seek professional advice should you uncover any concerns.

Check that there aren’t any

pins or rings missing. All split pins should be open at a 20-degree angle and split rings should be tightly coiled to prevent movement.

Sanlorenzo's Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Methanol Propulsion

Sanlorenzo's Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Methanol Propulsion

During this year's Cannes Yachting Festival, Sanlorenzo and RollsRoyce announced a partnership to develop and build a methanol propulsion system which will first be installed on a Sanlorenzo superyacht, scheduled for delivery in 2026. This is key to the Italian shipbuilder's 'Road to 2030' sustainability and technology strategies.

By using green methanol, produced with electricity from renewable sources, and CO2 captured from the atmosphere, Sanlorenzo says it can achieve "carbon-neutral" power. That is, the amount of CO2 released into the air in the combustion process is equivalent to the amount removed from the environment for producing methanol.

"Compared to conventional fuels, renewable methanol cuts carbon dioxide emissions by up to 95%, reduces nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 80%, and completely eliminates sulfur oxide and particulate matter emissions."

Sanlorenzo has also partnered with Siemens Energy to install hydrogen-powered fuel cells on yachts between 24 and 80 metres. We expect this system to appear on Sanlorenzo's new builds from 2024.

Bluegame's Hydrogen-Powered Foiling Chase Boats

In September 2022, Bluegame, by Sanlorenzo Group, signed an agreement with the New York Yacht Club American Magic, challenger for the 37th America's Cup, to design and build the team's hydrogen-powered chase boat.

For the first time, the 37th America's Cup protocol requires each challenging team to build and operate two hydrogenpowered foiling chase boats that must be a minimum of 10 metres in length, reach a maximum speed of 50 knots, and have a range of 180 miles.

Bluegame has built an exceptional team with previous America's Cup design experience to ensure the project's success. As a result, they possess the best possible knowhow in structures, composites, foil design, and the software that controls the flight height of these highly sophisticated foiling boats.

The boat's propulsion system will be powered by hydrogen, an innovative concept in boating and a first for Bluegame.

Off the back of this agreement, Bluegame is also collaborating with Volvo Penta to develop a pilot IPS hybrid propulsion system, which will use hydrogen fuel cells developed from the America's Cup project. Bluegame's BGM 65 HH (hydrogen-hybrid) model, due to be launched in 2025, will accommodate this cutting-edge technology.

Charter Investment

WHAT IS CHARTER INVESTMENT?

Our Charter Investment programme is run in partnership with Navigare Yachting. The idea is that you invest in a yacht that is then chartered out by Navigare and, depending on the level of investment you opt for, you can earn back up to 12% revenue per year or use the charter income to finance the remaining cost of the yacht. You will then take ownership of the yacht at the end of the 7 year contract. All of the running, berthing, insurance and maintenance costs will be covered by Navigare. Plus, you will enjoy all of the benefits of the Navigare Holiday Programme which provides you with a minimum of 8 weeks a year on any of Navigare’s charter yachts all around the world and access to their choice of luxury holiday villas.

KEY BENEFITS OF CHARTER INVESTMENT:

REDUCED INITIAL INVESTMENT

Navigare provides an option whereby the initial investment from you can be as low as 40% of the value of the yacht. The remaining value of the boat is then funded via the income generated by Navigare’s charter programme and a final payment from you at the end of the agreement, allowing you to spread your outlay over time.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT

If you choose Navigare’s Complete or Ultimate Finance packages, you will earn back up to 12% of the value of the yacht every year. Although this requires a 100% upfront payment of the value of the boat, this is a fantastic return on investment and you will still own the boat at the end of the 7 year term too.

HASSLE FREE YACHTING

Navigare invests a lot of time and money into looking after your yacht so that it has the best possible second hand value at the end of its charter programme. This means that you never have to worry about any of the ongoing maintenance costs and can enjoy hassle-free yachting. Plus, you can keep track of all maintenance and servicing activity on your yacht via an online servicing system and receive a full service record at the end of the investment period.

SO HOW DOES

There are four Navigare Yacht Investment programmes to choose from depending on how much capital you wish to tie up over the investment period – usually 7 years. Navigare can also work with you to develop a bespoke

plan that works for your own individual lifestyle and investment needs, as well as include any other lifestyle assets that you have to offer, such as luxury villas or other charter yachts:

COMPLETE FINANCE You loan Navigare the full purchase price of a new boat and receive a fixed revenue of up to 9% of the value of the boat every year. You will also have access to their holiday programme during the term of the agreement. At the end of the agreement, the boat is yours.

SMART FINANCE You pay a reduced fee of around 55% of the value of the boat. This option ties up less capital, but there is no annual return to the investor; the revenue is used to pay off the remaining cost of the boat. At the end of the agreement, the boat is yours.

SMART-LOW FINANCE This works in a similar way to the Smart Finance package, but the initial investment is as low as 40%-60%, with a delayed staggered final payment of 15-20% at the end of the investment period. At the end of the agreement, the boat is

Beneteau Oceanis 41.1 Shared Ownership Agreement for three owners. Under the three year agreement, the owners have equal access to the yacht and the boat will be fully managed by Ancasta to provide hassle-free yachting.

Each member of the syndicate paid a deposit of £24,880 and they each pay £1,067 per month. These funds cover ALL of the yacht’s running costs including berthing, insurance, engine servicing, antifoul, annual winterisation, annual servicing, anodes, monthly valet, annual hull polish, weekly checks and a contingency of £3,000 per year. Furthermore, all of the work will be managed and overseen by an Ancasta Customer Service Manager so the owners don’t need to worry about anything at all - this really is a case of turn up and go sailing! At the end of the agreement, the owners can choose to continue, buy out one another, or sell up completely. They are also covered by a guaranteed buyback option if they can’t find a private buyer.
