YOUR COMMUNITY TU COMUNIDAD Celebrating 30 Years of Anaheim Children's Festival The Anaheim Children’s Festival presented by the MUZEO and City of Anaheim will be celebrated on Saturday, May 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pearson Park in Anaheim. The Anaheim Children's Festival is celebrating 30 years of bringing arts to the young people of Anaheim and their families. This FREE event is a unique opportunity to celebrate the arts and to engage children, parents and everyone in the arts. The event was originally brought to Anaheim by the Anaheim Arts Council and under the guidance of one of Anaheim's own, Julie Mayer. The Council was an active part of the Anaheim Community and identified a need to bring drawing, dancing, and more to Anaheim's young people. Over the years that need has grown even more. With the overload of video games and virtual experiences, the Anaheim Children's Festival has stayed true to engaging children exclusively in art fun—dancing, drawing, music, and more. Through the efforts of numerous non-profit organizations, City services, and local entertainers and artists (all committed to their community), this FREE Festival has blossomed and provides a full afternoon of water coloring, dancing, clay sculpting, making hats, vinyl art, sketching, orchestra "petting zoos", and more. The Festival is committed to all arts and ONLY arts at this event. The MUZEO of Anaheim, Museum and Cultural Center, is the major presenter and umbrella organization for the Anaheim Children's Festival. MUZEO is housed in a true "work of art"—the Carnegie Building in downtown Anaheim. The MUZEO works together with over 50 organizations and city departments who bring art projects to Pearson Park and encouraging participants and art lovers to "try art". To engage the children, volunteers from local business and organizations welcome the children and sit down with them. Our local high school students and non-profit organizations provide young volunteers to help the younger children pick up a paintbrush or a marking pen.
