Mother Colony House!

The Mother Colony House was constructed in 1857 by George Hansen, the "Father of Anaheim," as he prepared the Anaheim wine-making colony for 50 German immigrant families waiting in San Francisco. Known as a symbol of Anaheim's viticulture era, it is the oldest remaining wood-framed building and was the first historical museum in Orange County when it opened in 1929. Learn more about the historic house at the Open House Tours on the first Saturday of each month, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Founders' Park (400 N. West Street).
