Design of an Urban Park in Wakefield,UK
This project, green connet was a part of my landscape master’s course. This is locate in the city of Wakefield,UK.
The site is located along the river Calder which flows through the city of Wakefield. Most of the areas which I will cover during this study have been untouched by any human activities but are rich in ecosystem. The most iconic site in this region id the Hepworth Museum and Garden. A part of the study is to abridge to gap between the nature and the local community of Wakefield. Another part of the research is to enrich the biological resources and the woodland in those regions.
The vision of the project is to the connect the woodland along the river Calder while protecting and enriching the biodiversity. Design new green infrastructure that can engage new human activities and improve the local community.
Redesigning a walled garden in University of York,UK
The Golden Path Garden is a design proposal for the Walled Garden in University of York, UK as a part of the LA702: Personal Focus Portfolio. The Aim of the module is to bridge the gap between the academic learning and professional practice in the field of Landscape Architecture. Its intended to cultivate and improve critical thinking for the importance of a landscaping project. This project also aims to assimilate skills and techniques required to transfer the design idea into a outcome which can be understood by the external audiences.
The name, Golden Path has originated from Buddhism which means a path which leads a person inward into self-realization of the ultimate identity. It’s also used in the field of software engineering as “an opinionated, well-defined, task- specific and supported path for creating software” according to Google’s definition. I chose this name as I intend to create a connection between the University of York and the user.
Design of forest park along the River Aire near Gargrave,UK
This project is a part of Cities Alive Design Studio which is on the river Aire and its catchment areas. The Green- Blue infrastructure focuses on the unique features and its impacts on the landscape design along the river which passes through a lot of small villages and prominent Cities.
The focus of the project is to design an Aire Forest Park between the Coniston Lake and the town of Gargrave. Gargrave is an upcoming town with a lot of new developments and initiatives to improve the existing landscapes in and around the town. The selected side is located towards the east of Gargrave with railway line on one side and patches of woodland running till the Coniston Lake. The primary goal for this area is to find ways to improve the river health followed by minimizing soil erosion so that it can help develop the natural habitat.
The vision for this project to try and maintain a balance between the nature and the people. The Gargrave area is rich in biodiversity, and it needs for a new and imaginative idea to create a new environment by ensuring it’s a nature-based design.
