ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO
Amyya Henry
I am 19 years old, in Design Four of architecture, with a passion for drawing and photography. I am a quick learner who adapts easily to new environments and has a keen eye for detail. Beautiful architecture captivates me, standing out through its harmony, balance, and the emotions it evokes,
I love how every detail tells a story and creates an unforgettable experience.

Art and Photography
I have always had a passion for painting and drawing growing up, which nurtured my love for artistic expression. The artistic side of architecture is what draws me to the field, allowing me to blend creativity with design in a meaningful way.

The Fundamentals of Architecture
In Design One of architecture, I learned about color theory and how it influences spatial perception and design aesthetics. I also explored partis, understanding their role as conceptual diagrams that guide architectural organization and decision-making.
What is Architecture?
“Architecture is a form of Expression”
- Amyya Henry
Architecture can be a form of expression, as it balances jeopardy—the bold risk of innovation—with alluring designs that captivate and inspire. Its unparalleled ability to shape experiences relies on the thoughtful utilization of space, materials, and artistic vision.

Visionary Ateliers
A bright and artistic workspace for the innovative minds.
Visionary Ateliers is a four-building concept that merges creativity, education, and hospitality into a dynamic architectural experience.
The two interconnected Airbnb buildings offer guests an immersive stay surrounded by art, while the art school serves as a hub for learning and experimentation.
The two-in-one rentable art studio provides flexible workspaces for artists to create and showcase their work. The name "Visionary Ateliers" reflects the purpose of these spaces fostering innovation, artistry, and craftsmanship in an environment designed for creators and visionaries.
The entire complex features strict geometric forms with unique cuts, emphasizing modern precision while symbolizing the unpredictable yet structured nature of the artistic process.

So, What is Architecture? Architecture is a concept of your perception.
After going through Design One, I realized that architecture is deeply tied to perception, as our ideas, visual influences, and mental intake shape the spaces we create. The way a structure evokes a specific feeling is a direct result of how we interpret and translate our experiences into form, material, and spatial organization.

The Importance of Precedent Research.
Design Two taught me the importance of precedent research in architecture, showing me how past ideas shape and refine new designs. I learned that precedent research goes beyond structures—it includes people, cultures, art, and history, all of which influence architectural form and meaning.
Alvin Ailey Precedents Go Beyond Architecture.
Alvin Ailey was an American dancer and choreographer who founded the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. He is known for pioneering modern dance and celebrating African American culture through movement.

Concord Memorial Project two - Memorial/Sacred Space
My memorial, Concord, represents harmony and unity, reflecting its meaning of peace and coming together. This idea is embodied in the design, where three interconnected circles symbolize connection, and the dome atop the main meditation space serves as a focal point for reflection and tranquility.

Design 3 Structure and Fondation.
Design Three taught me the importance of structure and function in architecture, showing me how a building's design must balance aesthetics with stability and usability. It also introduced me to AutoCAD, helping me develop precision in drafting and translating ideas into technical drawings.

Vitality Health Center
Project three - Health Center
In Design Two, while our main focuses are structure and foundation, I chose the name Vitality for my health center to represent energy, renewal, and well-being. The use of natural concrete, wood, and marble reinforces this idea, creating a strong yet calming environment that supports both physical and mental healing.
