reflection During the completion of Assignment 1, I dedicated significant time to researching the Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL), focusing particularly on the Ventilation aspect as assigned to me. This involved extensive information retrieval, wherein I meticulously organized the building codes I investigated. To enhance my comprehension, I engaged in the creation of mind maps and conducted relevant calculations. Collaborating with my cohort members, we actively discussed the accuracy and completeness of the gathered information. Through this collective effort, we continuously refined our work, eventually shaping it into a Stylescape. This collaborative process not only propelled the development of our teamwork skills but also clarified concepts that were previously ambiguous. The group research approach proved to be a highly effective method for advancing our learning. The entire class collaborated on in-depth investigations into various topics. We systematically restructured and annotated the acquired materials, facilitating a rapid grasp of the essence of each subject. Recognizing the limitations of individual energy levels, we acknowledged the challenge of digesting vast amounts of information in a short span. Group study not only addressed this constraint but also allowed us to streamline and simplify information, thereby optimizing our learning efficiency. The review of annotations from fellow students significantly contributed to my deeper understanding of building regulations and related topics.

reflection Assignment 2 proved to be immensely valuable for me, offering crucial insights into my future trajectory. Prior to this assignment, my vision for the future was rather unclear. While I possessed a general understanding of the career path of interior designers, the realm of entrepreneurship remained largely unexplored. This task provided a unique opportunity to delve deeply into the nuances of various entrepreneurial methods, enhancing my comprehension of the business landscape. The exploration of diverse business types proved highly advantageous, enabling us to proactively chart our future directions. Beyond just operational differences, we also delved into the regulatory aspects associated with initiating a company. Within the assignment, my team and I engaged in a simulated exercise, mimicking the scenarios we might encounter when launching our own business. Opting for a simulated Sole Proprietor company, we meticulously detailed everything from company location and corporate objectives to employee roles and financial statements. By recreating real-world workplace situations, we aimed to identify potential challenges and realities comprehensively. Surprisingly, this exercise revealed that the process of starting a business is not as daunting as initially imagined. It served as a mental preparation, equipping us to anticipate and navigate various aspects before embarking on an entrepreneurial venture.

reflection The final assignment is an individual project, requiring students to complete an entire stylescape independently. This presented a notable challenge for me, as it necessitated not only researching and generating content on my own but also addressing layout and design considerations. Fortunately, drawing from my previous experiences in two group projects, I wasn't entirely new to the process. After creating preliminary sketches and incorporating materials, I proceeded to fill in all the necessary details. For this project, we were tasked with importing designs from AIAD2 into the assignment and evaluating various aspects, including building regulations and fire protection standards, to assess compliance and identify potential areas for improvement in the designs. I'm pleased to note that upon scrutiny, my work aligned with nearly all building codes, indicating a solid understanding of relevant codes and laws. Additionally, my Green Building Index score exceeded the standard value, signifying that my design is not only compliant but also environmentally friendly and sustainable. These statistics bring me a sense of satisfaction.
