REPORT My study room was remodelled from the living room on the second floor, so its light is actually not very suitable for study. First of all, its built-in downlight is too bright, and the 6500k light is often dazzling and makes me uncomfortable. Secondly, its light is not conducive to doing homework and using the computer. In addition, when I was in a video conference, even though the light was already very bright, my environment still seemed dim in the video. That's because there is a big window behind me, and there is no light to illuminate my face. In addition, there is no separation between the study and the stairwell, so we used to set up an American semi-ceiling light in this aisle space. But in fact, at night, the chandelier in the stairwell of our house is always on, so we don't actually need to set up a night light in this space.
I chose 4000k Philips LED T5 Tube Light Bulb this time and designed it without the main light. It is a popular ceiling method in recent years. By concealing the lamp tube and diffused light, the entire room has light evenly. The cool white light can ensure sufficient and comfortable brightness, and also prevent the possibility of glare for the elderly. Compared with the previous single-control switch, I use dual-control this time, because in fact, turning on the lights on both sides is enough for daily use. So changing to dual control, choosing which side of the light to turn on can save a lot of electricity. Besides that, because my bookcase is large and the light often does not illuminate the space of the bookcase, I added a light strip in the bookcase. It will be set on the periphery of each bookcase to provide light for the bookcases. The warm yellow light strip can also add some warm atmosphere to the study. Today's light strips are also very power-saving and do not cause a lot of overhead. All the lights I use are of a type that consumes less power and is aesthetically pleasing. The dual control mode can also effectively reduce unnecessary waste of resources. The light is not the brighter the better, but the brightness that suits us, so that we can protect our eyes while saving electricity.

Assignment 2A:
*It is a apartment, so I can't measure Wall B's exterior window as there are no window. Area brick wall, A1= (13'*9') - (4'*5') = 117'-20' = 97sq Wall thickness = 4 inch Wall C outside temperature = 99.6 ℉ R1 = 0.2hr*ft2*F/(BTU*inch) = 0.2*4inch = 0.8hr* ft2*F/BTU R2 = 2*0.5inch =1 hr* ft2*F/BTU q1=[(97)*( 99.6-89 )]/0.8 = (97*10.6)/0.8 = 1285.25 q2=[(20)*( 99.6-89 )]/2 = (20*10.6)/2= (20*10.6)/1 = 212 Total Heat transfer = 1285.25 + 212= 1497.25 BTU/hr As my study desk is near the window in Wall C, and the gaps when the windows are closed will still bring a little hot air into the house, so the most critical wall panel I chose was Wall C.
Assignment 2B
Since it has been used for a long time, even if the windows in my room are closed tightly, there will still be some gaps to let the hot air from outside come in, so I decided to design a rectangular shield to cover the small gaps in the window. In addition, since my room does not have a night light, I want to add a light function to it while blocking the heat transfer.
I designed this movable strip light box that can be directly fixed to the window frame with a similar tenon -andmortise structure. It has a two-layer structure, the smaller layer is responsible for fixing to the window frame, enclosing the gaps and blocking the hot air from entering. The outer layer surrounds the strip lights, and only the light is exposed through the long hollowed-out hole, forming the effect of no main light. This kind of light will not irritate the eyes, even in the dark, the warm yellow light can provide enough night light effect.
Since it is fixed on the window frame between the two windows, even if the window is opened, it will not affect the use. When you don't need to use it, just pull it gently and you can take it off directly.

Average price the market is willing to pay: (Rm15 +Rm15+ Rm45 + Rm40+ Rm30+ Rm50+ Rm45 +Rm 60+ Rm30 + Rm50 + Rm7+ Rm30+Rm10+ Rm50+Rm20)/15 = Rm 497/15 = Rm33.13 Cost: Rm1.50+ Rm3.5+ Rm3= Rm8 Design value: Rm( 33.13-8)= Rm25.1
REFLECTION In fact, I didn't really understand how Heat Transfer calculates at first. After watching the recorded video repeatedly, I finally figured out the answer. This process gave me a better understanding of the course. I also have more knowledge about the temperature lesson.
This design may seem simple, but it actually took a lot of effort. When I could not think of what to desig n, I saw the small gap in the window sill and there was hot wind blowing, I suddenly got inspiration. If the window sill is too large to achieve a design that meets the size limit, why not just make a plug-in type, which is convenient to move and has a small size.
I carefully measured the size of the gap in the window sill. Accurate to the millimeter, in order to achieve a tight fit during installation. This kind of fine measurement actually brought me a big challenge, because my joint is too thin, and the range is not enough for the cardboard to support a fixed shape. I originally wanted the joint and other places to show a 90-degree angle. But then it became oblique. Fortunately, it also meets my bonding requirements.
I was worried that the cost of making the model would be too high if I used the LED light strip. After visiting many stores, I found an LED string lamp worth Rm3.50 in Mr Diy, and the length was just in line with my model. The effect is better than I expected.
Before the presentation, I originally expected the average price to be around Rm10-15. I am very happy to know that everyone is willing to spend such a high price to buy my design products, which gives me a little more confidence in myself.
Thank you to Ms Sharon for giving me those quite useful lectures and helping me when I need. And also thanks to my friends who give me this huge support, it really gives me confidence.

Since I did not take the IAD4 course this semester, I used the IAD3 (IDS60508) final project- Bento from last semester. I chose the second floor of The Row as the project site because it has a cooking classroom.
Task 1 (a)
My project is a bento-themed store, which includes various bento exhibitions, on-site teaching, etc. Among them, the second floor I chose is the merchandise area and the cooking classroom. Area A is our merchandise area, area B is a cooking classroom, area C is a rest area for students, and we also set up some exhibition areas in area C. Among them, I chose a 12w Downlight panel LED to illuminate most areas, and I also added some track lights to attract customers to our exhibits. For the safety of cooking, the floor material we choose in the cooking classroom (Area B) is heat- and fireresistant ceramic tiles, and the furniture is also made of fire-resistant materials such as stainless steel and iron to prevent fire.
Task 1(b) Calculation
From the table above, the energy calculated using the current electrical, lighting and VAC equipment with the rate of RM0.50/kWhr. Since Bento shop and its cooking workshop will not open on Sundays, I calculated the electricity bill based on the 26-day power usage rate and produced a monthly electricity bill of RM1678. The workshop is equipped with 5 stoves for 12 students in each class. In addition, since our store provides regular cooking courses and sales services for residents, four refrigerators are needed to store ingredients. To save power better, I chose the LED Downlight panel, which is more power-efficient and cost-effective and the LED track light for display. It really helps to save money and energy. Panasonic Non-Inverter R410 Mini Cassette indoor unit sized 260mm*575mm*575mm, outdoor unit is 695mm*875mm*320mm, the panel is 51mm*700mm*700mm. Task 1(c) Water supply
I choose HAUSTERN Single Bowl Stainless Steel Sink (HT -QUATEK-800H) and pair with sink Faucet-7054 for the workshop because it is affordable and big enough. The stainless-steel sink and faucet is also easy to clean and fire-safety.
