As we move through the summer months, many of our residents are traveling or enjoying time in cooler climates. While the building may seem quieter, the staff at The Marbella remains extremely busy. Summer offers an excellent opportunity to prepare for the upcoming season while continuing to deliver the exceptional level of service our residents deserve and expect.
Within Administration, we spend the summer reviewing our current processes and identifying opportunities for improvement. Planning for another successful winter season is already well underway, and our Controller, David Coats, along with the Finance Committee and its diligent Chair, Mel Poplock, will soon begin developing the draft 2027 operating budget to ensure the Association remains on sound financial footing.
Rob and the rest of our Maintenance Team continue to focus on preventive maintenance throughout the property, helping
to preserve our building systems and reduce unexpected repairs. The Buildings and Grounds Committee, chaired by Dick Jensen, supports Rob in his efforts. At the same time, Michelle assists Housekeeping, which takes advantage of the slower months to perform extensive deep-cleaning projects while maintaining the daily cleaning schedules that keep our common areas looking their best.
Summer also remains an active time for our Lifestyle, Kitchen, and Dining Room teams. Darci assists the Activities Committee and its exuberant Chair, Kae Nywening, in keeping our social calendar full with a variety of activities and events, while Chef Victor and his culinary team work to introduce new menu selections without compromising the outstanding food quality and service that have become hallmarks of The Marbella dining experience. Casey and Ashley, with guidance from the Food & Beverage Committee and the ever-sohelpful Chair Ellen Granger,
are developing processes and procedures to help ensure quick, thorough room service and improve the dining room experience. Any and all changes will be seamlessly introduced.
One exciting addition this summer is the installation of a new bakery production line in our kitchen. Once complete, we will be able to regularly feature fresh-baked breads, pastries, and other specialty items prepared in-house. Work is expected to begin in early August and conclude by late October, and I know Chef Victor and the kitchen staff are looking forward to the opportunities this enhancement will provide.
Of course, it wouldn't be a summertime update without mentioning hurricane preparedness. While we encourage every owner to obtain a copy of the 2026 Hurricane Guide for Owners from the Front Desk, our staff also spends considerable time preparing continued on page 3…

Please make dining room reservations before 10:00 AM for lunch and before 2:00 PM for dinner. Lunch seating is 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the Madeira and Valencia rooms (casual attire for lunch). The dining room closes at 2:00 PM. Dinner seating is 5:30 to 8:00 PM. Reservations are required in all dining rooms for lunch and dinner to ensure the best possible service. Please call 239.593.2331.
Summer Dress Code
Summer is upon us, therefore jackets are optional in the Napoli Room from May 1st to October 1st. Long-sleeved shirts for men are required in the Valencia Room. The Maderia Room will continue to be casual attire.

Please return all bellman’s and shopping carts to their proper locations. The North Collier Fire inspector told us that these carts should not be left in the unit corridors, as they pose an evacuation obstruction in the event of a fire.

We review hurricane procedures, conduct preparation exercises, confirm emergency vendor relationships, and ensure we are ready should a storm threaten Southwest Florida. I remain vigilant throughout hurricane season and, if conditions warrant, you can expect communication from Management early and often.
Another project moving forward is the lobby renovation, which received overwhelming support from ownership, with 91 of 100 votes cast in favor. Agreements with the designer, contractor, and lending institution have been completed, and construction documents are now being finalized for permitting. We will continue to provide regular updates on scheduling, project phasing, and any temporary impacts on daily operations. At this time, we anticipate that the more disruptive construction activities will begin toward the end of September. The assistance of the Interior Design Committee, chaired by Barbara Cohen-Feins, has proven invaluable.
Although summer is a busy season, it is also an important time for our employees to enjoy wellearned vacations. Managers carefully coordinate schedules, and team members willingly assist one another by covering shifts and adjusting workloads to ensure uninterrupted service. Their collaboration and dedication often go unnoticed, but they play a significant role in maintaining the high standards our residents have come to expect.

It is truly a privilege to lead such a dedicated team and work alongside our Board of Directors to serve this exceptional community.
