PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Greetings!

It has been a little over six months since I took over the role as AMTA SD Chapter Pre the Financial Administration position, my “role” is a little different, as I get to speak with members and volunteers on a more regular basis. If you know me, there is one thing I BUSY!!

Speaking of talking, the chapter board members, volunteers, and I recently took time to implement a calling tree I wanted to make sure EVERY member knew exactly what is happening in our chapter This enabled us to also reach out to inform members about future events, in hopes that everyone will have ample time to make plans to attend We would like to get to know each, and every one of you!

As we prepare to bring some fabulous educators to you, the member, there has been one change that the National AMTA Office has requested us to implement This recent change comes in the form of online registration From this point forward we will be registering for all AMTA SD conferences online only!! Moving forward, we will have all our conference information in the newsletter and online, like we normally do, however, to register for AMTA SD Continuing Education Courses, you will need to complete registration online, including all payments. This will assist the chapter in doing it’s recordkeeping in better order and we are also NOT collecting checks and having to send them through the mail, which will make things better for everyone, in the long run.

I have learned, that to grow and succeed with the chapter success; we must adapt to change. This is the way that I plan to navigate Leadership:

Accept Change

Stay Positive

Get a Fresh Perspective

Focus on what you can control Set new goals Stay Connected

Communication, I feel, has always been my strong suit I will continue to provide open communication in the rest of my term as your AMTA SD Chapter President. Please feel free to reach out to me, if you have any ideas you would like to share.

I hope this year finds everyone willing to adapt with our ever-changing world. Stay strong and stay connected!

I leave you with a few quotes:

"If you can't change it, change your attitude."

"Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change."

“Change is painful, but nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong.” "Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything "
