Those words are a perfect description o f your scholastic life, from the time you first attended Our Lady Queen o f Angels and they saw something special in you. So special that they requested that you be skipped from first grade to third grade. We thought it was a mistake when you received your first report card and your high nineties turned to eighties, but your teachers convinced us to be patient. You proved them right and you continued to excel. We then transferred you to an accelerated school A t the Talented and Gifted Institute fo r Young Scholars you continued your quest to be the best student you could be and it was rewarded. You were invited to participate in the LANG program at the Museum o f Natural History where your interest in science was nourished so much that you moved into the next phase o f the program and completed the High School Science Research Program. When you graduatedfrom elementary school and you chose the Academy o f Mount Saint Ursula your mother and I were worried and petrified, not that the school was too difficult fo r you but that our little girl would be traveling across the Bronx all by herself. You again showed us that you could achieve and do whatever you put your mind to. MSU was probably the best choice you have made on your own. This is evident in the number o f colleges that have said that they would be delighted to have you attend. I still remember the day you were born and I left your mother’s side to be with my first-born child, my daughter, and my little girl! I also remember the joy in your mother’s face as I brought you over to her and she gazed at you fo r the first time. You have made both o f us proud throughout your life and we are sure that you will continue to make the right choices in life. We know you do not always take the road most traveled but we know that you travel that road to its end. As you stand at the threshold o f your life we want you to know we are very proud o f the young lady you are and the woman we know you will become.
