Dear Class of 1974, The weeks are passing so quickly now as you complete your senior year and approach the first of a number of Important crossroads In life. I understand your impatience to leave and to proceed with another chapter of your life. I would think less of you and of us here at Mount If you were not anxious now to go on to something new, to take charge of your own affairs, to see what you are capable of accomplishing. You will have a lot to talk about these days as you try to wrap up the significance of what happened to you here. Please reserve judgment until you have more perspective about your experience. Try to keep yourself and your Mount affairs in firm control, difficult as that may be, so that you can look back someday with as proud a feeling as possible. During these last days, try to make more firm the close and enduring relationships you have made here. Good friendship and kindness come most easily when we are happy and content, at peace with God, with others and with ourselves. This, then, is my wish and prayer for you, that the peace and joy of Christ be with you all and that the friendships you made here at Mount continue to be strong and true through the years to come.
