Half-Day Trip: Discovery of Pérouges, a 20-Minute Drive from Lyon

Discover the Basilica of Fourvière, the archaeological site and museum and also the grandeur of Lyon in Roman times. Travel by cable car to get down the hill of Fourvière to Vieux Lyon and visit the Renaissance District and its “Traboules.”

Leaning against the plateau of the Dombes region and dominating the vast plain of Ain is Pérouges – the medieval city that you’ll discover with delight. Standing high on the hill, this village is an area no lord has ever reigned until 1601.
