YOU are unprecedented… ‎ Class of 2022… What a day, what a year and what an accomplishment! Congratulations! Graduation is a time for looking back and looking forward. Reflecting on your experience particularly in the last 3 years, one cannot but be in awe of all the “unprecedented” experiences you have all had. The word “unprecedented” is defined as follows: never having happened or existed in the past. We have heard this word constantly in the past 3 years. Some have perceived it negatively; however, looking back, one cannot but celebrate the positivity in this controversial word. YOU are unprecedented… You have done things that no other classes have done before. No students have had this level of disruptions to their lives, but you have adjusted so boldly and positively. You were part of an event that, although not new to history, surpassed all other events preceding it… EXPO2020. You took part in this formidable initiative and other endeavors undertaken by a nation that has inspired you to never give up and to persevere in the face of any adversity. If EXPO2020 has taught us anything, it is that the impossible is possible, and your accomplishments today are no exception. The past few years have brought so many challenges. We hope that, as you embark on the next chapter of your lives, it gives you clarity, perspective, and hope. The future course of this world remains uncertain, but YOU can play a vital part. Think of the core values instilled in you across the years. Leadership & Excellence: You are going to play a key role in shaping this new world of ours. We have no doubt that you will demonstrate excellence in your endeavors. Responsibility & Commitment: Your experiences here especially in the last few years have shown the level of responsibility and commitment you have to whatever you do. Regardless of your college or career paths, make it part of your lives to help others and make a difference.

Tolerance and Acceptance: There is wisdom and strength in our school community, and what makes it prosper is its members’ tolerance and acceptance. At Al Mawakeb, you have learned to respect every person and all cultures and embrace them as if they were your own. Take this gift with you as you help build and empower communities elsewhere. Family, Care, Honesty & Respect: This is where cooperation plays a role… You are part of a family that transcends the boundaries of our campuses. The relationships forged will be timeless, for they are based on care, respect, and honesty, all of which are catalysts that are fundamental to any thriving community. Your perseverance and success in the last few years could only have been achieved by teamwork and respect for your school. Let the love, care and support from your family, friends and mentors be your drive to put yourselves out there and take your shots, but let those shots be charged with honesty and respect. Your voices will echo for generations to come, and you will carry that legacy ‎that was bestowed on all of us by Al Mawakeb’s founding father, Mr. Nabil ‎Nasr. Although he is not with us today, we know that Mr. Nasr is proud of w ‎ here you stand and the legacy that you have all become an integral part of. ‎You will fulfill his lifelong dream of creating an everlasting Mawakebi identity ‎through the core values that are the foundations of our school. They have ‎now become part of your Al Mawakeb DNA proving where you have been, ‎whom you have met, what you have learned, and the lives you will touch and ‎impact.‎ Nothing we will say today will quantify the depth of pride and joy we feel for ‎what you have become. May this be a defining milestone for a long and blessed ‎life ahead of you. ‎ Venture forth… You are the Class of 2022, and the world is waiting to hear ‎your voices.‎

so many skilled orators... So many skilled orators gathered to gain the opportunity to speak on behalf of their classmates. This was their chance to express their feelings, happiness, gratitude and anxiety about leaving this familiar home to seek new accomplishments. As usual, the judges had the challenging task of choosing the best, and the best were many, for all of them spoke words from the heart. So many impressed and dazzled with their sincerity, confidence, and maturity. The scores were close, but finalists were finally selected. Again, more rigorous auditions took place, but finally our anxious finalists rushed to hear the results.Sounds of murmurs, beating hearts and sighs filled the room but only to be later replaced by wonderful smiles expressing how honored and fulfilled they felt at having been chosen. AMB: Abdelkarim Al Safadi, Aseel Al Hawamdeh, Amer Al Zarooni, Kareem Ezzat, Jowhara Farooq, Noor Amiri, Oumkalthoum Chafi, Maryam Galadari, Saleem Al Noobi, Saif Al Khatib. Graduation. The end of a journey and the beginning of a new one. It’s a ceremony dedicated to celebrating my batch and our childhood, hardships and education. The word “Mawakeb” will always ring differently in my ears. For 14 years, it has symbolized home, warmth, love, and growth. It has opened its arms to me, my two sisters and my family, and I will forever be grateful to call it my home. I am so grateful to have been given the chance to bid the final farewell to those who nurtured me and made me into the person I am today and salute the place that made it possible for me to stand on my feet all on my own. When Mrs. Rola informed me that I had a chance to speak at the graduation ceremony, different emotions rushed through my veins: happiness, pride, excitement and anticipation. I remembered the first step I took at the age of 4 into an unknown building that has now become a part of me. I reminisced over all the naps I took in KG and all the sleepless nights I’ve had studying. I thought of all my ups and downs and all my days at Al Mawakeb School that have led to this day. My words are a mere attempt to say the much deserved and final thank you. Dania Jaber - 12C, Al Mawakeb Al Garhoud

I am a young woman whose soul is intertwined with Al Mawakeb–a soul that has been raised by Ms. Susan since I could barely talk, guided through the most challenging years of high school by Ms. Rita, who was instrumental in shaping who I am today, and greeted with the widest of smiles by Mr. Moussa. You see, while it is standard for young adults my age to progress through this milestone onto the next, I experienced an even deeper connection with a school I can truly call my home. In my second home, I had a support system that helped me overcome the greatest challenges that can nearly shatter a soul... My heart keeps beating and it is Al Mawakeb that empowers part of that, and for that I’m ever so humbled, and grateful. Being called to come back and speak for my class filled me with immense enthusiasm... This journey was and will always be remembered as the best years of my life that I shared with you within my Al Mawakeb home, and as we turn onto this new chapter, I wish each and every one of you only the very best in what you pursue. Maryam Galadari - 12A, Al Mawakeb Al Barsha

so many skilled orators... Mahdi Larguesh - 12D, Al Mawakeb Al Garhoud

These gates, these hallways, these colorful walls filled with mine and your artwork, these desks and boards, these smiling faces…. They are all the essence of Al Mawakeb, the place I call home. Within these walls and classes, I have learnt to be independent, to stand my ground and to speak up. Al Mawakeb has taught us values and to encourage, respect, and support each other, but most importantly, Al Mawakeb taught us to make unforgettable memories together. My 14 years at Al Mawakeb have taught me that whenever you are in need, someone will always be there lending a helping hand. This unconditional support has not only allowed us to participate but also to thrive in all the initiatives and clubs we joined. This was only possible because of the faith our school had in each and every one of us. To be given the chance to speak on behalf of my class at graduation is truly an honor. It is an indescribable feeling of elevation that I will carry within me forever as I venture on new adventures but keep coming back as an alumnus and giving back in true Mawakeb spirit. On behalf of the graduating class of 2022, I say with pride: Thank you Al Mawakeb for giving us the best years of our lives. I will always be proud to be a Mawakebie. Jowhara Farooq - 12C, Al Mawakeb Al Barsha

Never in a million years would I have thought that my name would be among those amazingly talented people who would be selected to audition one final time. When my name was announced, my heart was thumping through my chest. This speech immediately started to come together in my head out of sheer excitement. One of the questions that was asked of us was, “What does Al Mawakeb DNA mean to you?” My list was endless. Having Al Mawakeb DNA is one of the proudest aspects of my academic life; having a tightened family that won’t just forget about you once you leave this school is a rare occurrence. My classmates are more like my sisters, and my teachers deserve my sincerest gratitude. I was blind to how hard-working the teachers are and how much I admire them for it. All they want from us is to see us succeed. I heard a quote once: “If you’re happy doing what you’re doing, then no one can tell you you’re not successful.” Never let anyone tell you you’re not doing enough, but, instead, flourish in knowledge, for having that kind of mentality makes the person hold on to his/her goals to prove others wrong. By doing just that, you’ve succeeded. Maryam Al Ghurair - 12A, Al Mawakeb Al Khawaneej

Today might just be another tryout day for you, and I am just another senior at this school. For me, however, getting this chance shows me how far I’ve come as an Al Mawakeb student. It proves to me that my hard work, dedication, and resilience have indeed paid off. I can’t express the feeling I felt when I was told that I had been selected to come back for the final round. Al Mawakeb DNA means everything to me. It is my past 14 years. It is what connects me to my friends, to my teachers, and to my second family. It links me to the students who remain at Al Mawakeb and to the ones who have left their mark long ago. I couldn’t have wished for a different or for a better legacy to carry forward, and to have been a Mawakeb student is the best legacy I could ask for. One thing I wish to convey to everyone, something that Al Mawakeb has planted in me, is to never seek recognition; work hard, and you will be recognized. Never give up no matter how many people go against you. Always be the change you want to see. Amer Al Zarooni - 12E, Al Mawakeb Al Barsha

Salem Al Noobi- 12E, Al Mawakeb Al Barsha

so many skilled orators... Speeches do not really mean much. Why would I want to I hear someone speak for hours when I could quickly read what I want to hear? Why do the students participating today care so much about being chosen to read some words? That is what a naive younger Omar thought. As I’ve grown in the nurturing walls of this beautiful institute, I have understood a lot... I have gained perspective. Unique words of wisdom from friends and teachers truly opened my eyes. The wait for the announcement for the second round of tryouts might have been among the most stressful moments of my life. My heart was beating so fast...But the speech was not my goal. I have publicly spoken in the past. It is about sending a message, a message of gratitude. No other place would have allowed me to stand in front of the many podiums I have been on besides Al Mawakeb. No other building could capture the vigour of my graceful fellow Mawakebis. As corny as it may be, I am not ashamed of calling Mawakeb my second home. I was raised here, I lived here, and my high school career will die a content death here. My desire to speak at the graduation is my gift to Al Mawakeb, for my parents taught me to always show gratitude to those I hold dear. Omar Al Hammadi - 12D, Al Mawakeb Al Khawaneej

Every success story begins with experiences that lead to a significant achievement, and my story is just beginning. My mother always told me, “Do something today that your future self will reflect on and be thankful for.” I am proud that she was given the opportunity to not only present her school graduation speech but her college speech as well. She inspired me to take part in this audition. In my two years as Al Mawakeb student, if there is one strength I noticed, it is the legacy and pride that comes with graduating from such a remarkable institution. Al Mawakeb has been a second home to many successful figures that have shaped UAE history. Although they have physically left this school, their mark still remains. With this being said, we are fortunate to be in a nation in which the leadership believes in working towards the best, achieving the best, and being the best. Al Mawakeb has successfully shaped its students to believe in this vision; therefore, I’m confident that Al Mawakeb will continue to prosper and provide quality education. Hamda AlHabbai - 12A, Al Mawakeb Al Khawaneej Class of 2022, our time has finally come. It is really hard to believe that 4 years ago we embarked on this beautiful journey that we call high school, and what a journey this has been! I feel like it is safe to say that no year was the same. While, our first year allowed us to settle into high school life, the second year was full of promise until we were met with a 3-week holiday that changed our lives forever; however, we adapted quickly and transitioned to a new phase of learning with ease. Our third year was one of perseverance; we were bound online for another year, and many were tired and lost motivation, yet we pushed through it and continued to learn, grow, and better ourselves. Our senior year, the year we all had been looking forward to, was one of redemption. We were finally back in school, and this time we made sure to not take our time for granted. Al Mawakeb is a school like no other. From the second you enter its welcoming doors and walk down its halls, you will be greeted with students who will become your family, teachers who will become your mentors, and staff who will ensure that every day is one full of excitement and joy. Al Mawakeb’s DNA creates strong, smart, and tenacious students who will become leaders, pioneers, and outstanding members of society. This is evident in the thousands of alumni who have taken over every part of the world. It is no doubt that we, the Class of 2022, will be a part of that remarkable group of alumni, and we too will make our mark on the world. Hasan Al Hasani - 12B, Al Mawakeb Al Khawaneej

Presenting our

K-12

Graduates...

K-12… So let’s go back to where all great stories start…at the beginning… Who can forget when you first walked through the gates of kindergarten for the first time - anxious young students nervously clutching your proud parents’ hands? How can we not remember the first time you read, wrote or memorized your multiplication table? Can anyone forget the first test and the panic attacks that come with it, Sports Day, award ceremonies, triumph, performance or presentation? What a commencement that was…one that marked the start of wonderful things to come. We watched you grow from uncertain kindergarteners to rebellious and adventurous teenagers, only to become fine young men and women, each with an assertive presence. It was the start of an intense journey of change, self-discovery and development, one where you remained steadfast, motivated and determined. The outcomes of this long journey are 14 memorable years and, of course, the Graduating Class of 2022.
