Hello, People of tomorrow!

Asian Medical Students’ Association-Universitas Sriwijaya or commonly called AMSA-Unsri is an organization that was founded on September 18, 2002 with several objectives: 1. Developing science and technology for the advancement of the nation and state; 2. Increase awareness of health problems in Indonesia; 3. Becoming a vessel for interests, talents, and creativity of Sriwijiya University Medical Faculty students; 4. Increasing sense of belonging between the members; 5. Creating collaboration between medical students in Sriwijaya University in particular and all across Indonesia in general.

AMSA-Unsri is an organization that is scientific, non-political, non-sectorial, non-profit, open, free, and independent.

To achieve these goals, AMSA-Unsri has a vision “To embody the philosophy of AMSA knowledge, action, and friendship - and to make AMSA-Unsri SHINE even more by increasing all of its potential” The SHINE referred to in the vision is the translation of the mission, namely TO SHINE (Synergy, Harmony, Integrity, and Equality).

The vision and mission are realized into the entire work programs of AMSA-Unsri 2020/2021.

To support all work programs of AMSA-Unsri, AMSA-Unsri has collaborated with several GO / NGO parties, including Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Sumatra Selatan, Dinas Kesehatan Kota Pagar Alam, Dinas Kesehatan Kota Lubuk Linggau, Palang Merah Indonesia, Ikatan Dokter Indonesia (IDI) Kota Palembang, Kalbe, ALSA, AIESEC, and have several partnerships including PMI, GrabExpress and Nutrifood.

Therefore, through the official booklet of AMSA-Unsri 2020/2021, we are proud to formally introduce our organization, such as the structural of AMSA-Unsri and all of AMSA-Unsri’s work programs. I hope that through this booklet we can show you what AMSA-Unsri is all about and I hope this booklet can provide positive benefits and positive impacts for us.

AMSA International AMSA International is the peak representative organization for medical students from across Asia, Asia-Pacific and beyond.

AMSA International was officially founded in Manila, Philippines in the year 1985.

From this day AMSA International has been an active, dynamic and student-led, not-for-profit, non-political organization.

Objective

Knowledge We promote scientific and medical activities to increase and expand our knowledge whilst training to become the medical professionals of the future.

1. To promote understanding in medical and health problems, as well as to share experiences in solving them.

Action As medical students, we are concerned for the community around us and endeavour to do things for the benefit and improvement of our fellow citizens.

Friendship As future doctors, we aim to build and maintain a good relationship among our colleagues of the Asia-Pacific and beyond.

AMSA-Indonesia Asian Medical Students’ Association Indonesia (AMSA-Indonesia) is the peak representative body for medical students in Indonesia. Founded in Yogyakarta, August 10th 1996.

AMSA-Indonesia has been actively participating in plethora of national and international events.

Its contribution to AMSA International as the roots of the organization are impressive, having hosted four Asian Medical Students’ Conference (AMSC) in 1990, 1996. 2003, 2010 and East Asian Medical Students’ Conference (EAMSC) in 2006 and 2015.

AMSA-Universitas Sriwijaya

AMSA-Unsri (Asian Medical Students’ Association Universitas Sriwijaya) is an autonomous body under the auspices of the Faculty Medicine of Sriwijaya University which is engaged in health, humanity, and talent development of its members.

AMSA-Unsri is incorporated in a representative body for medical students throughout Indonesia, namely AMSA-Indonesia.

As of now, AMSA-Unsri manage 6 divisions namely Membership and Development, External, Community Outreach, Academic and Research, Finance and Publication and Promotion.

AnR’s Rising Awareness: World Heart Day

AnR’s Rising Awareness: World Heart Day is carried out through a campaign through social media by spreading awareness about heart disease on the world heart day, namely September 29 and training Members and Observer-Members in public speaking to speak on social media.

LATS LATS (Local Academic Training Sriwijaya) is a compulsory program implemented by every AMSA-University. The LATS theme follows the theme carried by LAT by AMSA-Indonesia. This year’s LATS carries the theme of medical skills in the form of electrocardigraphy training (EKG).

AUTHENTIC

UTHENTIC (AMSA-Unsri Training for National and International ompetition) is a program that aims to introduce, provide a timeline or competitions and basic training for competitions to increase the terest and enthusiasm of AMSA-Unsri members. Some of the basic aining held is training for paper and poster competitions.

Point of Action: ADIPOSA ADIPOSA (A Day As Medical Student with AMSA) is an open house program which will be the first major program held by all AMSA-Unsri Observer Members. This open house is the first event in South Sumatra and aims to introduce the life of studying at FK Unsri to the outside community, especially high school students.

Members Late Open Recruitment An event that is held to recruit new members from the medical students year 2019 who have not joined AMSA.

Rapat Kerja AMSA-Unsri An event that marks the beginning of the Representative’s tenure where all the work programs of the tenure will be discussed with all members of AMSA-Unsri.

Open Recruitment This event is to recruit new members from the medical students year 2020 who is willing to join AMSA-Unsri. The recruitment has three series of events; Open Recruitment, AMSA’s Schooling, and Inauguration.

Upgrading AMSA-Unsri Members and observer members of AMSA-Unsri have to participate in this event where the alumnus are also invited to join. This event aims to head towards self improvement of the members and to strengthen the bond of AMSA-Unsri through some lectures and a sharing session.

Gathering AMSA-Unsri This event is held to gather the members, observer members, and alumnus of AMSA-Unsri to celebrate AMSA-Unsri’s Anniversary. The peak of this event is where all the participants blow on the birthday cake.

AMSA’s Member Card All members and observer members have to give their data to AMSA-Indonesia. They also should have the member card as their AMSA-Indonesia’s identity.

ACE (AMSA’s Celebration) This program aims to wish all the members a happy birthday and to congratulate members for their achievements.

GROOVE (Guardian Angel for Observer Member) Each members of AMSA-Unsri will help and guide the Observer members about AMSA.

Musyawarah Besar AMSA-Unsri An event that marks the end of the Representative’s tenure which includes the approval of his/her evaluation report from his/her tenure. The new Representative of the next tenure will also be inducted.

C EOTY 2020/2021 (Event of The Year 2020/2021) Event of the Year (EOTY) is a social work program that is carried out by each AMSA-university simultaneously for a certain period of time based on the concept selected through competitions.

PHILTRUM (Physical Surgery for Cleft Lip and Palate with AMSA-Unsri) A social work program that will be carried out for 6 months in the form of providing assistance for free cleft lip surgery services that will collaborate with dr. Iqmal Perlianta,Sp.BP. and Yayasan Ummi Romlah.

CALCIUM (Collaboration for Social Action from Unsri Medical Student) A social work program that will be collaborated with TBM Sriwijaya; in order to provide training of Basic Life Support by the experts and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) which will be directly done using mannequins

Community Outreach

AURICULA (AMSA-Unsri for Community through Social Action)

This work program is planned to provide assistance in the form of medical experts to an area in South Sumatra that is in need, due to the lack of health acilities and infrastructure in that.area.

TUNICA (Together Unite in Action for Indonesia)

TUNICA will be held for two days, including training for AMSA-Unsri members and observer members about eye examinations which will be done to the public on the main day. We will also provide screening for cataract surgery patients.

Emergency Relief (ER) AMSA-Unsri

Emergency Relief (ER) AMSA-Unsri is a program to help cities or areas afected by disasters.

Public DENATURASI DENATURASI (Design and Publication Tutorial and Sharing) is a platform where members and observer members of PnP division can share basic knowledge in design and publication using certain applications.

AMSA-Unsri Social Media Non-physical activities to run AMSA-Unsri’s social media. The social media used are Instagram, YouTube, and website.

PnP for Division Non-physical event to place each member of PnP AMSA-Unsri to be responsible for publications from other divisions in AMSA-Unsri.

cation and Promotion Submission of the Month An event to collect works in the form of illustrations, videos, photography, infographics, song covers, etc by members and observer members of AMSA-Unsri from each division and publish it through social media platforms, namely Instagram and the AMSA-Unsri website

Re-branding AMSA-Unsri Non-physical event to define the characteristics of the AMSA-Unsri’s social media. AMSA-Unsri branding is carried out to determine the template (font, color palette, etc.) that will be used during the 2020/2021 tenure.

AMSA-Unsri Merch and Merch Competition

AMSA-Unsri Merch is an event to design merchandise with concepts relatd to medical students or not that will be sold through the Finance division n the first Pre-Order. AMSA-Unsri Merch Competition is an event to design merchandise submitted by members and observer members and to choose he best designs through blind voting. The merch will be sold through the inance division in the second and third Pre-Orders.

Exposure (External for AMSA-Unsri Delegations) Exposure is an external work program in the form of providing information about AMSA national and international events as well as administrative delegation of AMSA-Unsri members. The number of national and international AMSA events that will be held, the external division is responsible as a source of information for AMSA-Unsri members regarding AMSA national and international events and plays a role in the administrative delegation.

AMSEP Session

AMSEP Session is a work program under Exposure which convey information about AMSEP and equip potential deleg the basics for exchange programs.

AMSA x ALSA AMSA x ALSA is an annual work program with the ALSA LC of Sriwijaya University which is aimed at collaborating and sharing with the ALSA LC of Sriwijaya University.

AMSA x AMSA

AMSA x AMSA is a work program in the form of a meeting agenda AMSA-Unsri and other AMSA-university which aims to establish co exchange ideas / share, and build the existence of AMSA-Unsri.

MIWIONAIRE (A Million Ways To Be A Billionaire)

A work program that becomes a source of funding to support all activities of AMSA-Unsri that does not need help from sponsorship by doing entrepreneurship every day to stabilize spending and income.

AMSA-Unsri’s Merchandise A work program that sales AMSA-Unsri’s merchandise through a pre-order system that will be promoted on social media and booths at every AMSA-Unsri internal event.

GPS (Go Preloved Shop) A work program that will be doing medical examination, such as blood pressure test and 3 in 1 test (blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid) and preloved sale that will be conducted once a month. Preloved sale sells clothes and things that are still worth wearing.

Partners with Benefits Cooperate with various companies, organization, and associations for one tenure in order to help AMSA-Unsri in any work programs according to the agreement that has been made.

AMSA-Unsri’s Identity (AMENITY) A work program that takes care of creating ID Cards and Lanyard that will be given to AMSA-Unsri’s members and observer members.
